and we bought dubi,cally,leetch,kovalev,we traded for betts while he was a prospect,we do develop players but sather now will need to further develop them and our drafting has gotten better since sather started letting gordie clark make the pics and not him directly having as much input

For all you Islander fans who do nothing but knock the Rangers, remember that the Islanders got Tavares because they were the worst team in hockey. When was the last time the Islanders won the cup?

I don't think I've ever heard from a happy isles fan before. Don't dispute the fact that everyone in and around the NHL continues to laugh at the Islanders- Having that fat little chinese boy on the stage during the 1st round selection is a complete joke. Thanks to Sather painting the team into a salary cap corner with his idiotic signings the last few years, the only hope the Rangers have is going to be prospects. Nobody in the league is interested in taking Gomez, Redden or Rozival off our hands. Subtract Betts and Sjostrom (hardworking character guys) and Mara (blue collar defenseman who stood up for his teammates) and the coming season has all of the hallmarks of a disaster. I'd rather see hard working players than ones like Gomez and Zherdev that only occasionally feel like showing up. Get rid of Sather and hire a full time GM.

You know it's bad when the highlight of your organization for the past five years is a "draft party" in June that doubles your average home game attendance. Yup, the bar is pretty low over there in Uniondale....
