Actually its a free country & us Islander fans can say whatever we want. Giving up 2 defensemen for a selfish player sounds pretty dumb to me. Actually its par for the course for the Blueskirts.

Stupid to rid of the guy who was 5th among Dmen in hits.

Tyutin was with the Rangers longer than any other player.

Actually, I'd like to point out that Sather said he's going younger and faster like the rest of the league. Snow adds draft picks to achieve the same thing and gets ridiculed for it. I guess they're both knuckleheads?

great trade.slats does not make a bad trade and if he did he immediately corrects it with another move.the rangers are strong at center and looking for specifics at defense a physical force and cornermen and finishers at wings and understood size and skating ability.the future is bright ranger fansgoodbye mr.shanahan you are all class.you will be missed

I would rather keep tyutin and trade roszival.... tyutin at 2.3 mil is a bargain compared to rosey at 5 mil

Tyutin is only 22-23 lets not forget that. Defensemen dont usually blossom till 25-26 like Campoli will. Tyutin could be a top 4 dmen or a #2 you dont really know, but I think he will have a good career. Good trade for the ranger$ if zherdev isnt causing trouble like the jackets reported.

I being an islander fan think it was good trade for the rangers but the off ice issues probably won't be a problem becuase they just had Avery and lost him so another headache no problem and he is machure as well more then can be said for Avery! But this guy can produce having over 60 pts tlast season! It will be another interesting season with a fun rivalry as usual. One more thing:

IF YOU KNOW THE RANGERS SUCK CLAP YOUR HANDS

CLAP CLAP

IF YOU KNOW THE RANGERS SUCK CLAP YOUR HANDS

Have fun paying Redden 6.5 million when he can barely feel his knees after taking so many hits protecting that pussy you call a goal tender!

Its always interesting listening to islander fans using their right of free speech, MAYBE one day an intelligent comment will emerge. The only negative in this trade is Tyutins
potential, Backman was a mistake which now is corrected. Zherdev would not be the first NHLer who was a head case at the start of their career but
was straightened out by a new start. Time will tell. Fritsche is another young proven NHLer who will compete to be on the team and only make them stronger up the middle. Need we forget the Rangers have some serious young Ds who now will get a shot.

Well now that the Ranger's have re-signed D Mara, this seems like a very good move for the Rangers. I'm glad to get rid of Backman and his contract, but think Sather was counting on signing Orpik when he made this move.

Being able to resign Mara gives the Ranger's 6 defensemen with NHL experience and allows the younger defensemen to mature another year in Hartford.

It would appear the Ranger's still have some cap room to make another signing, but my believe is that they will let one of the younger Hartford players fill that last wing spot or attempt to get the Russian kid we drafted last year to come over the pond!

Take or choice Korpikoski, Parenteau, Byers, Moore or maybe last year's #1 pick from Russian Cherepanov will get a chance this year in the Ranger's lineup to prove they belong in the NHL.

A wild card could also be to lure Immonen back to the US for a chance to finally play and let's not forget the signing of Jamtin.

Jamtin and Cherepanov would be my choices to make the team this season with Parenteau closely behind!

You're dashing around in several directions at once today because you're gripped by the burning desire to get things done. You're in a tearing hurry, and the problem is that this could make you rather irritable if things don't go the way you want or people don't jump to it. You might also be feeling angry with a friend, even if you can't put your finger on what's wrong.
