Amazing!! Even though they won, they still almost blew it, but thanks to Vokoun for stopping a point blank shot with about 15 seconds left. Why is it that the Panthers always keep their players right in front of him in the final minutes? If they didn't shoot the puck into his gut they would have scored. Again, playing not to lose. They still suck!!

So was Panthers coach Jacques Martin worried that his team would fall into the same trap when the predicament looked all too familiar?
"Never a doubt in my mind [that we would win]," Martin said. What a friggin liar!!!!

First, Vokoun is a winner. I like this guy more and more not only based on performance but his overall attitude.

Second, Martin's quote "Never a doubt in my mind [that we would win]," is laughable. psychology would be no different to him than it is to me and anyone else including players, coaches and fans. We all, including Martin, held our breath, especially with that dumba s s penalty Allen took with 3 1/2 minutes left to play.

That said, very pleased with the win!

They played a lot better over the entire 60 minutes than they usually do, but the offense wasn't there in the third. A lot of people talk about the "killer instinct" many teams use to bury their opponents, rather than play a defensive waiting game. This team needs to start employing that more.

Aside from Vokoun's performance, this was an unimpressive game against a weaker team. If the Crapitals had a better power play, this game would have been another loss in the final minutes. Fortunately for the Cats, Washington couldn't get it together and we won by default of them not being able to capitalize (no pun intended). The only bright side is that a win is a win and maybe by some miracle they kind find away to parlay this into a lengthy winning streak. With Carolina next on the docket, I don't feel the warm and fuzzies.

Kreps and Booth are playing better than our "top" players. On a side note, I really like Vokoun. On the interview after the game yesterday he said of Peltonen, who got to wear that retarded cape, that he was one of the few exceptions on the team, because he has been a consistent player. Even when they win he takes a rip at the team on t.v. JM, you should learn some coaching skills from your goalie.

I agree that Vokoun was our best player... but is David Booth flying out there. Give him a scoring touch and he could reach 25 goals.....
Love his energy. And Weiss is slowly waking up...but what the hell is wrong with Horton.... hes invisible all of a sudden?

A win against a weak team.We cant beat the better teams unless we get lucky.Van Ryan almost blew it again by shooting the puck around the rink in OUR zone with 1 minute left and the Capitals on a power play. The puck went right to the Capital playerVan Ryan is an AHL defenseman who makes poor decisions(a panicmeister).

Seems our european players are the one's consistent, with the exception of Booth who keeps his speed up every time he hits the ice. Glass was the most entertaining on the ice.
I am still wondering how we can be moved off the puck so easily. Jay is 6ft plus and 200+, yet littler guys are stealing the puck from him in our end....what gives? How about hitting someone...

My golden prescription from yesterday did work a miracle !!!
Apart from this the problem being obviously lots of mental crap that need to be purged before each game- the media here would do us a great service sparing us the daily quotations from coach or players. That can always be interpreted wrong and everyone is better off without digging interviews and speaches from players who are paid to play not to talk- less talk and more effort please !

Second. It should be probably obvious to the players that JM is an average coach at best, a losing .500 year after year at best -so lets not focus on his greatness and compare him with Doug at every turn- that can also enrage some players who see him for what it is-average!
So lets change the subject while scouting for a real Coach!

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Pisces

This is another good day to be tactful, and if anything you'll be even more successful than you were yesterday. This is not to be sneezed at, so seize the opportunity to talk to people who can sometimes be very touchy or who need to be handled with kid gloves. If you meet someone who's older or more influential than you, you'll be a big hit with them.
