Only Scotty Bowman and the late Bob Johnson were more successful as the Pittsburgh Penguins' coach than Michel Therrien was, and both of them are in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

I wish him all the luck in the world.....but it will be a tough road ahead.....it is rare to have one such talented player as Crosby and keep the others in line...how long before the other players get sick of "Feeding the Cosby"...they will all feel this way sooner or later, even if it's just because of low ice time....The red wings had it with Stevy Y in his younger days....It took a rash of Russians to put them at the top of the league...they need balance(talented 2 and 3 lines) to make it to the cup....but I don't think they can afford it...that's likely what Hossa saw....

Living in Pittsburgh and seeing the follow up coverage of the firing of Michel Therrien, I can only be saddened. This was a completely self-serving action on the part of Ray Shero to cover up for the fact that he has not replaced those players who left with other players of comparable quality. Therrien is a good coach who will get a chance elsewhere and hopefully get to work with a GM who believes in him and not someone who's been trying to figure out how to get rid of him since he came. I wish him well!!!
