Big win after a dismal loss to the Kings.

Had some old geezer out at tonight's game yell at me to sit down after I'd stand and cheer for every Hawks' goal. After the Hawks 4th goal (should have been 5th), when the geezer told me to sit down I turned to him and said, "Yeah, I think I will take a seat. I'm getting tired of all this standing." Man, the Hawks looked good tonight. And to come back after having a goal disallowed showed some real spirit that has been missing at times lately. OK, a couple days off then lets take it to the Oilers again.

Huge win! Yes, sir! Talk about making a statement. Like Duncan Keith said, they wanted to prove to themselves that they could beat San Jose - the best team in the league. And, man, prove it they did. With overwhelming evidence! Case closed.
This win certainly boosts my confidence in this team, after doubts began creeping in the last two or three weeks. We're gonna be alright, thinking we can now finish this 8 game trip at 6-2, and no worse than 5-3. And once this run of 11 of 12 on the road is over, look out cause Here Come The Hawks, The Mighty ....
Let's Go Hawks!

Coming off a poor effort against a team lower in the standings (though the Kings are improving, it would have been easy to lose to the top-rank Sharks. As long as the Hawks use their skating ability to the full, they'll do fine most nights. Now let's hope they remember against the Oilers.

the blackhawks win a very big game against the best team in hockey on the raod and are still 2nd billing in the tribune to the lowly bulls????? I wonder what it will take to get the tribune to show more support to the only show in town right now???

I don't think the Hawks can play much better than they did last night. They had a plan and executed to near perfection. Took the Sharks out of their comfort zone and I suppose the law of averages had to catch up sooner or later after 13 straight losses. Helluva shot by JT on his second goal. Now, can we see Khabby play a string of games?Enjoy Vegas fellas and then it's on to Canada...GO HAWKS!

Key win to get back on track after a loss to the Kings. The possible problem with the the Kings loss could be we beat the Ducks and were looking ahead to the Sharks and made the terrible mistake of underestimating the Kings. If that was the case we should know by now that this is the NHL and no team can be taken for granted. Oilers next. Go Hawks GO!!!!!!!!!

I was scared that the goal being taken away would have such a negative effect that the Hawks might not be able to overcome the 2 goal swing, but they did. This just shows us how this young group is learning what it takes to be a championship team.
I hope they don't tire themselves out in Vegas!

Yes, big win but the disqualification of a goal and penalty call on Versteeg, while within the current rules as a double minor were ridiculous! The penalty is supposed to be called immediately and Kane was the guy with the high stick in cheechoos kisser. Censure the officials. While this was a HUGE win beating one of the best teams in the league, guys like Duncan Keith and Cam Barker are not stepping up physically, and leave the mens work to guys like Walker, Wiz, Ladd, Eager, and Byfuglien. Checking opponents is everones job. maybe someone needs to explain to Duncan Keith that a check is something other than that slip of paper he gets every other friday from Mr Wirtz.

Give the Bulin Wall a B+ grade for his efforts. He was certainly effective with his pads, stopping a couple of what I thought were sure goals. I just hope he doesn't get injured. That man has a lot of flexibility for a a mid 30's guy. I don't know what he and Stephan Waite (goalie coach) do, but believe me it's a ton of stretching and using the medicine ball. It is extremely tough on the human body to do what goalies do. It's way more than crouching over and occasionally dropping to a butterfly position. Watching him perform like a kid amazes me. What a wonderful team victory. As Paul said, NO team in the NHL can be underestimated! It's tough to bring the A game every night, but when they get to the playoffs they are going to have to. In my opinion it was the biggest victory of the season. Maybe not their best game, but most important win.

A shocking win in light of the way they've been playing lately. I'm so impressed with the way they reacted after the double minor was called after the Bolland goal.
The most encouraging thing I saw was the Hawks' ability to maintain extended pressure in the offensive zone...something they haven't been able to do as much lately. Patrick Kane looked the best he has since the Detroit games. Speaking of Detroit - 5 in a row now for them....

HUGE win! HUGE!!! It'll be interesting to see how they play next; mediorcre teams have let downs after giant wins like this one, so let's see how this young team shows up in Edmonton on Tuesday.
Play with your heads high boys, but don't get complacent or cocky. There's no room in the NHL for complacency, so...
To further emphasize, I'd like to quote Harvey Keitel in "Pulp Fiction", but I'm pretty sure the Trib censors wouldn't allow it. It goes something like this:
"Let's not start tickling each other's feet yet gentlemen..."

Sec317: Maybe Kane is just about healed up? Tony: Were you not able to get Comcast or did you switch to the San Jose feed to simply get their perspective? In my other post, I meant I do not know SPECIFICALLY what Waite and Khabby do for flexibility.

For anyone interested: Go to the Blackhawks web site and check out the article on goalie coaching. I have studied Allaire, Streahlow and Corsi through the years to help me coach my goalies in high school. I try to tape as much as possible also. It is facinating work(fun actually) to see improvements in kid goalies. I had to learn it all on my own when I played as did most goalies who played in the 80's and before. I sure wish I had had a goalie coach. Maybe I wouldn't have been hit in the head as much if I did! The reason goalies get better all the time is because of the coaching they are getting at the lower levels from HS to Juniors to College. The young guys are very fortunate to be getting the coaching finally! I have had the honor of coaching my own son and he is a heck of a lot better than I was.
