Report: Flyers' Richards to undergo surgery, out 10-12 weeks

Philadelphia Flyers captain Mike Richards will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, according to the Courier-Post. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren told the paper that Richards is expected to miss 10-12 weeks for recovery.

10-12 weeks...good. He's got to be out as long as possible in order for him to be completely healthy when the regular season begins in October...he'll be ready to go in September for the preseason. It's no wondering Richards had such a hard time on faceoffs, but oh well...he's a warrior for continuing to play through pain.
