I was watching the game. The Devil were LUCKY to win that because they were outplayed badly for long periods of time. Any Devils fan better thank their goalie for that lucky ass win because they are NOT as good a team as they used to be.

Obviously, I don't think the Devs are the team they used to be without Stevens but they ended up better then my blue and white last year. As long as the Devs have brodeur they will be in the playoffs, as for my Leafs they should make it in 6-8th.

I THINK THAT THE LEAFS WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR, AND AS YOU SAID BE THE 6-8TH SEED.

I hope so. I've been a fan for more then ten years with that team. I tell you one thing, cheering for them isn't the easiest thing to do all the time. You get inconsistancy, and then disapointment. They stink for a few years, they begin to get better and then you think they got a real chance. Then they just fall back down again. When they are good (pre lockout) they never make the next step to become great. I used to live in the city of Toronto, and I can tell you one thing, that entire city would be shitting a brick if they made the finals.

I laugh at people that say they haven't won a cup in awhile when it's like 5 years. They don't know what a drought is. With you being a Devils fan, you are very lucky to have seen your team win more then one championship within the last ten years.

I THINK THAT TORONTO WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR AND MAYBE EVEN START AT HOME WITH ALL OF THE MOVES THEY HAVE MADE DURING THE OFFSEASON. THOUGH THEIR CHANCES OF WINNING THE DIVISION ARE SLIM TO NONE WHILE BUFFALO AND OTTAWA ARE STILL GOOD. I THINK THAT YOU WILL FINISH 3RD OR 4TH IN THE DIVISION, PROBABLY 3RD.

If we finish 3rd, we won't be able to start at home because the 2nd place winner will be in 4th or 5th. The good thing about finishing 3rd in the division is that if we finish 6th we could face the Southeast, who's record wouldn't be that much, or any better at all then Toronto's. Therefore, it would be more evenly matched.

In the NHL, they don't do the home ice by record, they do it by the higher seeding. Example: When Vancouver beat Dallas, Vancouver was the 3rd seed, and Dallas was 6th, but since Vancouver was seeded higher, they got the home ice. Do you see what I mean?

I know. What I mean is that if they get the Southeast, whomever is winning their division automatically gets a top seed. The SE has been known to be a weak division. They could get a higher seed then another team despite haveing like 10 less points, getting 3rd in the conference just because they played a bunch of weak teams. There have been many years where a team from SE has like say 87 points and 4th place has 97 but they don't get 3rd because the 4th place team isn't leading their division despite being a better team. Take out the division rule and some of those SE teams would drop to maybe 7th depending on how many points they have.

I know when they do that, like when Vancouver was 3rd, and had 105 points, and when Nashville was 4th, and when they had 110 points. I know that it wasn't the southeast division, but it is the same situation, and I didn't look that up, I figured that out myself.

For example, Atlanta was the 3rd seed. Ottawa was the 4th seed, and they had 8 more points.(105-97) The crazy thing is that if they met in the playoffs that Atlanta would still get the home ice, even though Ottawa had 8 more points.

Yeah, I would be hoping to face one of the SE teams because they would probably be more equal to the Leafs then any of the other top 3. They'd be the easiest to face.

Because their division is very weak, I mean Atlanta won it and only had 97 points. Normally, you need to have at least 100 points to win your division.

Yep, that's why I want to face them. We would have an even shot of making the second round if we win a few in their building. Just look what the Rangers did to Atlanta this past year.

Since we have already discussed the playoffs seedings, let's discuss the offseason pick-ups that the Devils and Leafs have made. You shouldn't think about your seeding because you have missed the playoffs the past 2 years. Anyways, what do you think of the Leafs' offseason pickups? I think that they are great pickups.

Haven't been online the past few days, but I think they are pretty good actually. Fergie knew he had to do something to save his ass because if they don't make it this year he's gone. Blake is 20 goals at the least, and Toskala has better numbers then Raycroft.

As for the Devils, I say about the same as last year. In all honesty, I don't think that getting rid of Gomez will have a dramatic effect. The Rangers overpayed for him when they could've had Blake who had more points in less games for less a salary. As long as the Devils have Marty, they will be in the playoffs no matter what. It was a good move to resign Parise and keep him, he maybe something pretty good.

How about the offseason pickups? Like players that they have acquired, Like Zubrus and Weekes.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Taurus

Keep calm! Your emotions are becoming increasingly heightened and intense today. As a result, you're likely to take things much more seriously than usual. That's wonderful if you're involved in a hot and heavy encounter with Mr or Ms Right, but it won't be such good news if you go overboard about silly trifles. If you're doing some last-minute shopping you'll want to be as extravagant as your budget allows. Or is it a case of Budget...? What budget?
