Islanders forward York awarded big raise in salary arbitration

Islanders forward Mike York was awarded an $800,000 raise Saturday in salary arbitration, the first setback in the tenure of new general manager Garth Snow.

Mike York deserved the raise contrary to what the lawyer had to say in arbitration. What the hell was Milbury doing there anyway? On the Isles website Garth Snow said he hopes to sign York to a long term deal. Never gonna happen. This will be York's longest season of his career as he will be counting down the games from opening night when he will be free from this circus. I wish him nothing but the best no matter what team he signs with after this season.
