Wow, what a performance. The Hawks have had a few days off and played like crap. Where is the hunger for this team to want to make the playoffs?? 6 games left, 3 at home nad 3 on the road. 2 points up for grab and they let it slip thru their fingers. I am very disappointed in the way the team played tonight. With a performance like that they should have just stayed in Chicago and forfitted the game. The worst part is that they got shut out, and the Jackets had 6 players up from the minors.

4 minutes to go and hawks are getting spanked by Columbus. One of the teams worse than they are. Ouch! You poor guys sitting around in your hawks sweaters and hammered on Old Style. Updates as they come in!

Pity party! Did the other team play too rough? The refs sucked? The ice was too soft?

All season long, every time I start to think this team is playoff ready they lay a big egg. And that invariably led to a 4 or 5 game losing streak. Remember that loss to Edmonton during the holidays, blowing a big lead right when they were catching fire? Then the loss to San Jose and now this. Damn. I'm so disappointed. This one kills any chance of making the playoffs.

But we can't lose sight of what a glorious season it's been! Hell, the mere fact that I'm so disappointed is a wonderful thing. I actually care that deeply about the Blackhawks again! I care! I'm back! They're relevant again! And, I'm already looking forward to next year!

LET'S GO HAWKS!

Oh, one more thing:

How pathetic is David Spears? He's likely about 43 years old and living in his mother's basement. Has never been laid. Has a problem with pornagraphy and is probably a registered sex offender. Might work in a large law firm's mail room. He has no friends, but has convinced himself that the hot secretaries really dig him. That's the only kind of guy who sits around watching a team he hates just so he can ananomously post comments about how happy he is that the Hawks are losing in a delusional attempt get under the skin of complete strangers that he'll never meet and who could care less about such a pathetic loser.

David, it'll be alright. You should stop hurting yourself. And please do not discontinue taking your medicine, although you may want to talk to the doctor about upping the dosage. Take care.

I'm not the one talking about a glorious season with a distinct possibility of ending up in last place. Admiring a team that was owned by one of the most self centered people in sports. Who by the way did not even put a successful team on the ice and yet he knew homers like yourself would follow like the sheep that you are. Local news does not even cover these losers. The meds are being taken by you, as your the one in the world of fantasy, calling a very losing season glorious. Never watch the hawks just like so easily being able to push the buttons of those like you. Gettin' under you skin like an Alabama tick. go hawks...They gone. 47 years and counting. Start talking about next year...I'll be watching!

How bad must your life be to call a season like the hawks had glorious. One of your buddy homers called this game, a close one! Four to ZERO is a close one? Guess your standards for accomplishment or benchmarks for excelling must be near to ZERO! Don't trip on those beer cans.

How sad is it that David has to pose as another person, in this case Ray, just so it looks like somebody agrees with him.

Lang was nastalgic....very dissapointing game. Josh Mora hit the nail on the head, the team came out to conservative and let Columbus get their legs back from the night before.

Lang has a breakaway, loses it, the Blue Jacket's defensemen gives it back to him so he can go down and bury the puck in the belly of Norrena. Why wasn't his contract only one year??

Khabibulin was the only one out there that looked like he gave two ****, after he let up the second goal, he was pissed, and the Sopel scores on him.

This is another one of those games that shows that we just aren't there yet.

They'll get their soon, Go hawks!!

It's tough to win when you have to rely on a pair of 19 year olds to do all the scoring.

Guys ignore the troll from Elgin, that thing is not worth it. I think Section 319 is right and it is a registered sex offender that is why it trolls on here using multiple names. I say Ignore the sex offender and lets talk about hockey and the Hawks.

The way I see it is that the Hawks have a good core of players. Games like last night show the players that the Hawks need to get rid of. And it shows that the Hawks need to add some key talant. Furthermore when Kane and Toews have another year in the NHL under their belt they will be even better. What I am looking at is they are improving, much better than last year and things are looking up. Tallon has to make a huge impact on getting impact players in here, and getting rid of the dead weight that is still on this team. This is the first March that I can remember that the games for the Hawks mattered. In recent years we knew that the games in January didn't even matter. They have a solid foundation for next year. I still want to see them finish the year strong, they have 5 games to go, if they can win 4 of them that would give them 88 points. Pretty good.

Tim, you're right on the money -- on the both fronts. It was a glorious season for me because the Blackhawks became relevant again. With the death of the old stubborn man, Rocky's takeover, Pulford's ouster, the hiring of McDonough, the return of Hull, Mikita, Esposito, the promise of new stars like Kane and Tazer, and the return of so many fans (myself included)-- with all that, the Hawks have been reborn. Yes, they need more talent to compliment their core of of good young players, but it's clear they're not far away.
So I am really looking forward to next year and the future as we get to watch this young team grow and develope before our eyes, much as in the early 90s we got to watch Jordan, Pippen, Grant, Paxson develope into champions.

And, secondly, I won't waste another breath on the loser from Elgin.

Tony- regarding your question about dead weight: everybody with the exception of Kane, Toews, Sharp, Keith, and possibly Seabrook. Everybody else should be considered emminently touchable.

Tony - Bourque is the biggest one. Then I would say Lang,(he is just not getting it done, we need his vet leadership on the ice), Yanic Perreault (he is the best in the League in face off wins, but other than that what does he bring to the table?), Craig Adams (70 games played, 3 goals, 6 assists, 9 points in total with a -14), Andrei Zyuzin (Defenseman that is just brutal), and Patrick Lalime (Had several good games but need more in a back up goalie. PLAYERS that need a come to Jesus talk - Kevyn Adams (he is a Veteran player, needs to play better when on the ice), Jason Williams (Same as Kevyn Adams), Cam Barker (needs more consistancy when playing Defense), Dave Bolland (Stop hugging the boards, must play in the center of the ice, and Dustin Byfuglien (he needs to use his size, park his rear in front of the net during a PP and shield the goalie, and pick up garbage goals. Also he must crash the net more. Now the players that I mentioned that need a come to Jesus meeting have great potential, and on a playoff team would probably play better. They are players that we need more consistancy from.

And Section 319 Great post, this was a great year for the Hawks, and I am really looking forward to next year. SO Tony, Chico, Section 319, Bryan and others what do you think about my list. Let me just make one comment, I am glad that I am not the GM of the Hawks.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Libra

If you live with other people you have to resign yourself to the fact that you all want to do different things today. The more you urge togetherness, the more everyone will be determined under tonight's Full Moon to do their own thing even if it creates problems. Try to play this down as much as possible because it's also a lunar eclipse and getting angry won't solve anything; it may even make the situation worse. Maybe this is a chance for you to do what you want for a change, too? Anyway, enjoy yourself tonight, Libra because you deserve it!
