TOO FUNNY.

The Isles are "trounced" by the Senators.
And the Rangers "fall" to "division leading Carolina"

How valiant of the Rangers to "fall" valiantly to these overpowering Canes. Never mind that coming into the game the Rangers had a better record than the Canes.
Never mind that Canes play in the weakest division in hockey.

Never mind that the Isles/Sen's game was 3-2 with 5 minutes to play and coulda/woulda been tied had it not been for a couple of posts. According to the headline writer, THEY WERE TROUNCED!!!

The continued clear and overwhelming bias of the peons working the headline desk in Melville is laughable.

Their team (the Rangers) fails on a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to pick up some points on the rivals and the frustration of their fan(s) writing headline becomes evident in his/her work.

And the powers that be at Newsday allow this shoddy behavior to continue.

LONG ISLAND'S HOMETOWN NEWSPAPER!!!!

Why not add "fair and balanced"?

Either way, time is running out for both of these teams. They better put it in gear!

Such a shame your team's goaltender wasn't named to the all-star team - especially after all you losers talked him up during the offseason like he was the next Patrick Roy. Oh well, you'll have your adam graves night next year, MSG will withhold all tickets from the public and charge $1000 per ticket to whomever could afford it. What a pathetic organization. Get rid of the corporate business season ticketholders who don't know what off sides is and you're left with about 6 ranger fans in total lol.

I noticed the headlines, too--why mention 'division leader' regarding carolina, when they are not in the rangers' division; in fact, any hockey fan knows that leading that division is like taking your dog to the prom.

Either way, rangers are a joke--but not to worry fans, i'm sure they'll grab some top free agents this summer so they can make another run to the second round.

As a lifelong Ranger fan I'm used to it....they stink.A decent goaltender,a copule youg D-men and a heck of a pugilist in Orr. That's it.Dump the Europeans who have no guts and dance with the puck afraid to shoot. The Three Stooges are ruining NY sports...Dolan,Sather and Isiah.

The Rangers goaltender could have made the All-Star team if he had those "SPECIAL" white goalie pads. Then again, who else was the NHL going to take from the Fishsticks?

Are they special like the Rangers players acquired over the summer, because then they would not be very good at all.

Like it or not they are a division leader. Stanley Cup Champions 2006, runner up in 2002. Rangers last appearance in the finals...1994 and the Islanders...1984. I’d take that dog any day.
Plus, if Carolina is so weak, then why are the series this year between Carolina and both the Rangers and the Islanders tied? If our division is so weak, and our series play between teams is tied, then we all are weak teams regardless of our respective divisions!

Funny, the league measured them and deemed everything fine. Yet you continue to harp on something that isn't true. I guess that's all you can come up with against the isles, since dipietro has a better save% than lundquist, isles have a better record than the rangers, isles have a lower payroll than the rangers. Start saving up for adam graves night.

PS - isles abandoned the fishsticks logo 6 years ago and potvin retired 20 years ago. Just thought you should know lol

I'm pushing Sather to reacquire Rachunek and Ozolinsh so I can put them on my top line with Malik, who keeps threatening to hit me, but backs away at the last second to let me through, and then grabs at my ankles. I'm going to call the line "3-D" - a deserter, a dolt and a drunk. I've been diagramming plays for the past few weeks and have hit upon some potentially highlight-worthy material, especially on the power play unit. The only problem so far is that after finally contacting Sather in a remote northern Ontario fishing village and getting his OK (I think he said OK; he might have said no way), I can't get in touch with him or Dolan. Dolan's secretary keeps telling me to stop prank calling his number - he doesn't own a hockey team.

Out of curiosity who won the Stanley cup more recently?.....I thought so,and How many times have the Rangers been in the SC Finals in the last decade? Canes twice in the last 6 years( if you don't caount the strike year. Sure you can go back 15 years+ and show some success but that and $4.00 will get you a cup of coffee at starbucks. you are a typical NY Ranger fan always crying the blues and trying to bring better teams down to your level...pitiful really.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Virgo

Words are flying around in all directions today, and the conversations will be fast and furious. You might face a lot of distractions and interruptions, or you could get caught up in some rather irritable slanging matches with a certain person. The busier you are, the more fraught you'll become and the more likely to go off the deep end.
