Angela,Lost Rights James: On my "assesment skills", the "skills" are based on the fact that on the whole,Atlanta plays weaker teams than the Rangers. So when they ended up a higher seed-it's not the best indication on how good a team is. You don't think that the Rangers are a better team than Atlanta? They sure are-and showed it, that's why they swept. But as the playoffs go on-the weak get weeded out so to speak. All I am saying is that it is premature to talk Stanley Cup, which I thought the Newsday article was about. I don't think at this point there is a clear cut favorite.I have been a sports fan for about 36 years-so I know a little about hockey, so condescending remarks to me like I have weak assesment skills is foolish, Jim probably would not of said that if I wasn't a women. Also the "sweetie" remark was dumb. I know men think they know more than women about sports-and Jim you may-but I can hold my own. I give credit where it's due. My team did not even make the playoffs this season-were not nearly good enough-but things change quickly sometimes in sports, look at the 2005 Yankees.

James Bovard is an Author.

My name is Bryan.

I apologize for the condescension. you do appear to know a bit, BUT you brought the attacks on yourself with your original post. Had your original post said"weakest" not "worst" you would have been taken more seriously.

I don't believe that Atlanta is as weak as you believe. I think the Rangers are better than their seed.

Last, the division is not as weak as you think either, considering the last 2 SC Champs came from that dividion.

Yes, I used the wrong word Bryan-and am not trying to diminish what the Rangers have done, I think they can go all the way but it's so irritating when the media jump on and off teams "bandwagons" I guarantee this particular author{of this article we comment about} signed off on the Rangers at the all star break. Now all of a sudden the Rangers are going to win the cup after the first round. He'll probably call for Renney's head if the Rangers don't go all the way though. The media jumps on-then off. I don't think Atlanta is bad-but compared to other teams in the playoffs-like the Rangers-they don't play the schedule the Rangers do.I didn't feel attacked by anyone but was called an idiot because I don't agree with other comments. I am not the type of fan who goes to games and thinks everyone other than who I root for "suck". I am a Flyers fan, but believe me-I give credit where it's due-The Flyers were terrible this year. I hope to see them back in the playoffs one day-you enjoy the Rangers run-theres nothing like the Stanley Cup playoffs!

I was surprised by the season the Flyers had, and you know for fact they will be retooled and ready for next year. If the Flyers had a typical season, it could have been possible that everyone in our division could have made the playoffs.

And I agree with you on the media. They are forever jumping on and off the bandwagon quicker than a celebutard flashes her.... The media is like that for EVERYTHING! That's why you can't take anything they say/write seriously, they are forever changing who they jump into bed with.

Yes Rangergirl-our division is probably the toughest. The Flyers were not as bad as their record. I watched many of their games and there were some bright spots. Looking foward to battling the Rangers in the playoffs again very soon. By the way-the Sean Avery trade was great!

How many one goal losses did they have yanks? i know at one point the rangers had a ton, and those are the most galling. Hell, I know the Flyers will be their 'usual' selves sooner rather than later. We all hate the teams in our division the most but damn if those arent the games ya really look forward to, especially in the playoffs.

As for Avery..it's been a long time since we had a guy on the team like that. Now Rangers fans dont go nuts but to me, he's like a cross between Graves and Tikkanen, a guy willing to take the body and take the hits, do the dirty work, and irritate the hell out of the opposition to the point of distraction at times. His acquisition really changed the personality of the team inward and outward. I'm sure he gets on EVERYONE'S nerves lol!!

How soon the Ranger fans forget their failure to make the playoffs for 7 years in a row. They always wear blinders where their team is concerned. Watch some of the other teams like Buffalo or Ottawa play and remember how the Rangers blew all those 2 goal leads in the regular season. They are sure to do the same in the postseason. As for Lundquist, sure he is a great goalie, but when things don't go his way, he makes excuses instead of admitting he had one bad game. When he plays like Roberto Luongo, then you can brag.
You're such an idiot. Lundqvist is playing great hockey. He has a current 1.50 GAA in the post season and has been 17-6-6 in his last 29 home games and had a 1.32 GAA and posted 5 shutouts in that time. Luongo only posted 5 on the whole season. When was the last time the ottawa senators won a cup? Oh yeah...never. What about Buffalo? The Rangers have it all this post season and they are the hottest team by far right now.
