I think it is simply a JOKE that the Rangers received a compensation pick because Cherepanov kicked the bucket. Makes no sense at all, what a joke this league has become.

You really want to trade with the Islanders, the conversation starts with Lundqvist, Staal and your next two #1's. Redden? Dubinsky? Go back to watching Dora the Explorer.

It's pretty simple, really. If a player they pick isn't signed (for whatever reason, death included) they are entitled to a compensatory draft pick. I guess something so simple is difficult for the arm-chair hockey fan to understand.

The conversation would start with the Islanders asking for Lundqvist, and the Rangers would hang up right then and there.

Ranger fans have such man-crushes on Callahan and Dubinsky...Yeah they are good young players, but I think that at least one of them will be traded in the next few years, probably Dubinsky because we do have numerous centers, and he would net the highest return. I'd rather have Callahan than Dubinsky. Package Dubinsky to Ottawa.

Why would the Rangers consider traading Lunquist who has proven himself as a #1 goal tender. You are stuck with Rick Diprudit for the next 15 years,

This is the exact problem that Rangers have had for years. You dont trade away home growns like Dubinsky and Callahan. Im an islander fan, and to me those two are untouchable. They are winners, and both have tremendous heart and talent..........those two can bring you a championship. Dubinsky reminds me a little of messier, with his hands, and Callahan plays like he's 6'5. You dont trade those kinds of players.......

I would like to know why its taking so long for Sather to sign Dubinsky and Callahan. What is he waiting for on Zherdev and Redden? Get rid of Redden and trade Zherdev for maybe another pick.

Sather is too busy fishing and smoking cigars.

No one wants Redden.

Yeah because baseball really gets the juices flowing.......BALL, BALL, STRIKE.

Why do they even need to play baseball, they just talk about stats anyway.

Not sure what you're blabbing about. He's been involved since 2005 and he seems to be doing ok.

They traded up in 2005 to get Staal. They've drafted Dubinsky & Callahan who are on the team and look like decent 2nd round picks. Lauri Korpokoski too. Grachev, Del Zotto, Bobby Sanguinetti, Del Zotto and the now deceased Chereponov were all those drafted by the Rangers with Gordie involved.

Somewhere way above where Brett Lindros ("the better Lindros") would fit in, cocksmoker.

You've got a taste for adventure today, so you might decide to depart from tradition in some way and make it an unusual Christmas. You're certainly all set for a great time, and you'll want everyone else to enjoy themselves as much as possible. You'll probably eat and drink too much but, hey, it's Christmas! Isn't such excess par for the course?
