Well, it would have been nice to get home ice, but the Rangers played well in Newark all year long. It's gonna be a great series.

It was a good game yesterday, I just hate the shootout, I'd prefer the teams just battle it out for the win.

Oh, and "bobby clarks gums" , i told you the flyers would get in. Too bad it's not against the pens, that would be a good series too.

Let's go, let's hear some predictions!
I'm going out on a limb here... Rangers in five. |
I agree. I heard they are debating extending the overtime 4 on 4 to 10 minutes, then the shootout if no winner is decided. I hope they agree to that, I got tired of watching shoot outs this year (I think the Rangers had 16!). It's not true to the sport |

for the rangers fans that are interested, since we do a better job of selling out our rivals arenas then they do, there are plenty of tickets available for games at the rock. Just picked up 2 tickets for a possible game 7, because if there is one im sure it will be a classic that i dont want to miss.
Im thinking this series goes 6 or 7. Hopefully the rangers on top, but when it comes to two top 5 goalies battling it out, this one will be decided on whichever guy gets hotter. Im expecting a Richter Brodeur type battle. Lundqvist has outperformed Marty in all the regular season games , but Marty's obsession with the rangers is well documented. Hopefully Gomez gets healthy quick, and Jagr continues to roll. Rangers in 6. |

the shootout is horrible, especially since lundqvist went from a shootout monster to a so/so shootout performer this year. Haha.
But yeah, its not the real game. Id honestly rather have a 10 minute overtime and if no one wins id even take a tie over the shootout. |

Well, one good thing about the playoffs, no more shootouts!! I say Rangers in 6. |

btw, apparently the king is on his way to yet another vezina nomination, meaning in every season if his career he has been discussed as the top goalie in the league.
Thats a great way to start his career. |
TSN has him as the third highest vote receiver when polling gms around the league. Brodeur is second... another neighborhood goalie conspicuously didnt receive a single vote..again

I think this is going 7, I'm hoping 5.

Yes, shootouts and receiving points for losses are a horrible thing in an otherwise beautiful team sport. If they insist on keeping the points for OT/shootout losses they should at least go to 3pts for a regulation win. |
I'm an Isles fan and would prefer Jersey to win but stepping back and trying to view this objectively... Down the stretch I saw signs of Brodeur looking tired. It's a tall order for a guy his age to play that many games. I would predict that if this is a short series (4 or 5 games) then the Devils win. If the Rangers can stretch it out to 6 or 7 games then I think they take it. Also, if the Devils win a short series then they have a chance to go deep. If the Devils somehow win a long series then they are done in round 2. The Rangers are more of a wild card for round 2. Quite honestly, your team is very unpredictably hot and cold. |
Rags in 5... take the body and SHOOT on the power play.... ugly goals,
Agreed, of course what the shootout truly saves is super long games. Im not against a tie. Maybe 3 for a regulation win 2 for overtime win 1 for a tie and 0 for any losses? or just forget the overtime distinction and go 3 and 1 for a tie like soccer . |
its true, the rangers are completely unpredictable. Like ive been saying for a while, i have a nervous feeling in these playoffs that I can only equate as a good feeling. I can see the rangers winning it all, and I can also see them losing big in the first round. |
You talk about Islander fans obsession with the Blueskirts yet here you are taking jabs at DP.(Who by the way played hurt since the All-Star break without starting defensemen in front of him) You try and come across as holier than thou but when it comes right down to it your just as bad as anyone on these posts. The Blueskirts will be eliminated in the 1st round. You heard it here Dina. |
only thing im worried about the rangers is their powerplay. they have a lot of guys who can shoot from the point. the rangers have played to well against the devils with 7 wins and a shootout loss. home ice is not important in the first round considering how many rangers fans filled the prudential center sunday.
Rangers in 5 |
Yeah & 3 of the Blueskirt wins were shootouts also. You can fill the whole Rock with wussy Blueskirt fans. Doesn't matter.......just more crying towels to hand out. Blueskirts will be eliminated in the 1st round. You heard it here. |

Mr. Henry King is not even the 3rd best goalie in NY
