Wow, Arthur Staple, how quickly you forget. Jagr wasn't good enough to lead by example on the ice? Are you kidding me? Even last year when he struggled he was the only player you knew could turn the game around. Shanahan had to go - no doubt. But Jagr is a better player this year in Omsk than anyone on the Rangers.

The ranger$ would have loved to have Kovelev. Trading him and Zubov were the main reasons the ranger$ went 7 years without making the playoffs.

Kovalev....I was at the NHL debut game in Prague this past month. I was fortunate enough to speak with some of the official's of game. I asked about Kovalev. ALL of them stated he is the most talented player in the league. Also, Most defencemen will tell you that Kovalev is the one player they fear the most on a 1-1....Because he has the ability to make you part of his 'highlight' film that will be seen by millons on TSN/CBC that same night.
