Bruins hurting - in more ways than one

Full story: Lowell Sun

Boston's boys of winter are now 49 games into a season that has been marred by injuries and inconsistency, but the sky-is-falling mentality has yet to creep into the psyche of a Bruins' club that has only won once in its last seven games.

Bruins screwed up by trading Kessel . He was the sniper that Krecji and Savard could set up. they've got great set up men including Bergeron, but nobody to pull the trigger. Even Lucic can overpower guys to set up someone in the slot , but who is he going to feed? Whitfeild or maybe Paille, please.Trade someone or sign someone who is a natural goalscorer or they aint doing squat this year.

Kessel was soft and not very tough but he was thrilling to watch with the puck. I agree , they really miss his shooting and speed. He may not have been your typical Bruin but he could dazzle and finish as good as anyone in the league. Another bad trade that will hurt for years.

I might be one of the biggest bruin's fan you'll ever see...I went to watch games when we last won the cup.

Here's the thing, because what use to be and what should be has made this season a sham for all of the NHL.

I'm talking of pros in the Olympics, it has destroyed every forth season because the olympics can sink a winning team and allow a crap team to prevail. It's wrong, it's not the spirit of the olympics or "professionals".

So as far as I'm concerned this season is just an exended pre-season for next season.

btw, didn't we trade Kessel because he really didn't want to stay? He's no better than Manny in my book...I miss integrity and sportsmanship.

I agree 100%. The B's have to make a trade for some offense.I heard talk over the weekend that Jarome Iginla was available. He is 32 - but a great player, I think he still has 4 or 5 good years left.He would bring the intangibles that the Bruins need right now.I wouldn't give up the 1st pick they got from Toronto for him, but I'm sure Peter Chiralli could work something out.
