Gomez: Straka's the reason for first-line success

After a two-goal effort in his return to the Rangers' first line led to a 4-0 win against Pittsburgh Tuesday night, Scott Gomez deservedly had the opportunity to accept some credit.

And yet, some Rangers fans, probably those arm-chair fans, have asked for Straka to be traded.

Straka was totally ignored and not even listed as one of the stars of the game against the Pens.

He set up the first goal (gomez) and scored the 2nd goal, and I think he was on the ice for all 4 goals !

Yet, these were the 3 stars
1. Lundqvist (who was tested 2-3 times, and only faced FIVE shots through 2 periods)
2. Gomez - 2 goals
3. Drury 1g 1a

Roszival had 3 assists in that game too, but Straka was one of the best players out there Tuesday.

well written article and good comment above. Straka (and Rozy) were a big part of the win Tuesday. I wouldn't be so quick to jettison either player.
