Full story: Newsday

Now he's really King Henrik. Henrik Lundqvist went to work Friday armed with the richest goalie contract in the NHL, a six-year, $41.25-million pact the Rangers announced Thursday.

I said in the beginning of the season, that Drury and Gomez were "B-plus" players makin' "A" money, and that Henrik was in the same boat, talent-wise.
I like all three guys - but, especially in a cap league, y'don't build consistent championship challengers by overpaying.
This has clueless Glen's prints all over it.
I can only hope I turn out to be as wrong about this as I was about John Mara and Tom Coughlin:-)

More distractions on a team full of bloated egos, no chemistry, with no chance of making the payoffs.

bloated egos? Ha funny thing since the biggest ego in town is the goalie in fishstick nation, whose the very reason for nassau's high electricity output( that red light behind him is constantly on)

Arent the fishstick fans happy, they could have had Luongo and Heatly instead of that clown

What's the deal with this post, did you read all of the other posts? Your fellow Rags fans are correct, this isn't 1993 anymore, throwing buckets of money to B+ players will cripple this team for a while. Maybe you should focus all your frustration or sather instead of the Isles. I am an Isles fan but I would love to see both teams go deep into the playoffs ( could you imagine a conference final?)But the reality is that BOTH teams have been mismanaged for years. so maybe you should talk to some one about this misguided anger. I'ts funny because if you check both of the blogs this morning all of the negative posts are obviously from Rags fans. Frustrated??? At least DP is only making 4.5, which with the help of sather will be the going rate for a backup goalie in a few years.

a ranger fan didnt refer to the rangers as having bloated egos.... as for the going rate for a backup goalie, thats perfect because thats what DP will be when the isles ever wisen up (not likely)

Wow you're an incredible loser. How did this article turn into something about the Islanders in your mind? You should be worried about your own teams shortcomings right now.

4-0 rangers 13 minutes into the game....looks like finally getting a good rest (remember while all these fans keep talking games in hand, all that means is the rangers played the hardest schedule so far with no rests) worked wonders

LOL. The Islanders should what? "Wisen" up. How funny is it that in a sentence used to make fun of someones intelligence, you show how truly unintelligent you are. Typical blueskirt biotch.

you should "wisen up" and realize and stop chasing ambulances, i think the fumes are getting to you. Did you go to law school so you could throm that in when you can't think of a response? Does this approach work in court?

Maybe i'll change my name to ONEIN54!
seriously though, the Rags finnaly made some progress last year and instead of adding to the mix, slats re-arrainged it. Imagine if slats kept nylander, signed Drury and spent Gomez's dough on a d-man.
two dangerou lines, two stud d-men (staal & whoever for 7mil a year)and a decent goalie! With the kids coming up in this org. that would have been a special team. instead we have a lesson in Chemistry, And I'm a stupid Isle fan.......

you guys planning on doing anything this offseason since you wont be watching television? I am sure watching the rangers play meaningful games is too much for you so maybe you guys can all chip in for the islanders to better their team

Or better yet! Just like nice people build homes for the poor, you guys can put on your construction hats and build a replacement for the masoleum! It can be safer than the dump that currently gets about 4000 people a night. Maybe next year, 10,000 fans can be a possibility!

We as Rangers should be pissed that we got the worst goalie in the tri-state area. I wish we had Ricky.
He is not a stuck up little French loser. I miss Richter. We had such chemistry....especially in the sack together. I loved when he shaved his legs.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
