I'm still a Leaf fan because I can hope that they win it some time in my life. Then I will be able to say I supported them all along. That's better than being a bandwagoner.

It is very likely that they will choose profit for the team. I believe that it is in best of the NHL that Toronto should not win the Stanley Cup. A team ,such as Nashville, is the most likely to win the cup. Richard, by winning the Stanly Cup, the Leafs would be getting the largest payout that the NHL gives to teams, just ask the Hurricanes, so where is the logic of not wanting to win? Winning generates the best profit, not only from the bonus to the team, but also it generates more sales of memorabilia, another lucrative source of team income.

Richard TO wrote: How many media outlets are there in either Raleigh or Charlotte discussing the Carolina Hurricanes. I doubt the pressure is as much as covering U.S. College Basketball for University of North Carolina or Duke University. I doubt the pressure is as much as covering NASCAR. Carolina Hurricanes have a pressure for being the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The Toronto Maple Leafs have pressure from the garbage that is the Toronto Media. Every media outlet is discussing the Hurricanes; in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Durham, Hickory, Fayetteville, Raleigh and even the smaller cities Yes they also cover other sports, but the articles and newscasts concerning the Hurricanes all comment on the team’s lackluster performance this year. As I said, pressure is pressure and these players have been under a microscope, dealing with pressure in hockey, with high expectations of their abilities and their team’s performance long before they entered the NHL. Did you happen to read any articles during the Buffalo/Carolina playoff series last year that were written in Buffalo? Talk about putting pressure on a team, and a very young team at that. Toronto is no different than any other market that wishes for a successful team in any sport.

You mean you doubt the Toronto Maple Leafs WILL win the cup right? Cause you said you doubted that they will not win!
