The All-Star game is a joke. Kovalev, Markov, Komaserek, and Price are 4 of the starting players....are you serious? The only player out of those 4 that deserve to be on the starting lineup is Andrei Markov (6 goals, 24 assists, and a +9). Him and Kimmo Timonen (3 goals, 23 assists, and a +5) should be manning the first line of defense, while Dennis Wideman (8 goals, 19 assists, for +24) and Mike Green (10 goals, 16 assists, and +14), serve as second-line defensemen.

Mike Komasarek has missed half the season, and has compiled 1 goal, 2 assists, and +1. That's not all-star worthy. Alex Kovalev is in a downward spiral in his career, and only has 11 goals, 20 assists, and +10...and is a freaking starter?! What about Simon Gagne? He's got 18 goals, 22 assists, and is a +18! What about Mike Richards? He's got 15 goals, 28 assists, and is a +16!

Then we get to Carey Price who has very good stats, I'll admit, with a 2.30 GAA, a .921 save percentage, and is 16-4 this season....but what about Tim Thomas? He has the same record as Price, except has 3 OT losses, but has better stats, with a 2.13 GAA and a .932 save percentage.

I'm glad that at least Carter got in for being tied for the league lead in goals, but Gagne, Timonen, and Richards should also be there. I think the NHL should adopt the system that the NFL has, where a fan's vote counts as 1/3 of a single vote, and the other 2/3 comes from player votes and coaches votes. This way, fans can't stuff the ballots and put non-deserving players in the All-Star game, and deserving players on the sidelines...

The Habs fans are a bunch of losers stuffing the "ballot box" like they did. The NHL had better come up with a better system next year or you'll have stupid fans like the Habs ruin what is suppose to be a mid season classic.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Aquarius

If you're still happily munching chocolates and all sorts of other goodies, you'll have to take yourself in hand at some point during the coming fortnight. Maybe you'll have to compensate for all the festive over-eating by taking more exercise or cutting back on the calories, or perhaps you'll decide that you can't delay giving up smoking any longer. As Mercury turns in your twelfth house of secrets, messages you receive at this time may be very subtle or contain hidden meanings meant only for your understanding.
