Kellie Pickler Battled Year-Long Depression

Kellie, Sorry to hear about your depression, hang in there girl, it will all be o.k. I myself suffer from depression and I take medicine everyday, but just always remember my favorite verse of the bible I live by this "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I am one of your greatest fans, I voted for you every week on American Idol, and I have kept up with you, Love your first album.

I am not an American Idol fan, I tend to shy away from listening to the contestant's post Idol music. However, I have found myself liking Kellie. I am glad she has found happiness and I wish her the best. I don't mind my 14 year daughter looking up to her one bit.

I wanted to say how beautiful and sweet Kellie is..She really has the art down of singing and being herself..I don't believe that she will ever changed because of her career..She is very honest and I cried with her the last time she sang Your Little Is Off...I am 56 and that brought me back in my youth..I know how she feels..Kellie your the greatest..God Bless You.Debby

Depression can affect anyone, for the longest it was shameful to speek about. I am proud of Kellie for letting everyone know about depression, that one selfless act will help someone. I suffered for years before I understood and got the help I needed, as a matter of fact I was about the same age as Kellie.
I enjoyed Kellie since discovering her on American Idol, she is down to earth, funny and in my ears a good singer. So she is beautiful, anyone rember Shania Twain and her outfit????? Another beautiful woman, and killer outfit!
So, instead of insulting Kellie, understand depression hurts and if you were one of the lucky ones to never have your life upside down then be greatful, but understand the courage it takes to open up and tell....
My life was hard as a child to my early 20's, I was one of those who if someone was looking outside they saw the clothes, home, cars and not the hell inside. Which was abuse...so to "mythreesons" don't judge. You may see "Nice Things" but not everything someone is living is. I covered my depression because smiling and laughing didn't lead to anyone asking me questions and then being known as the weird one, or why are you depressed you have everything.....depression doesn't care who or what you have.

Keep that chin up! My best friends and I love your singing and we too suffer from depression and sought help, your words and encouagement will be heard by both your young and older fans.

Depression is not nuts, it is a sad disease. It is very brave for any person to step out and tell the world about depression. I admire Kellie she is a brave, beautiful young woman who is a gifted singer. If you do not like her singing at least see what it took for her to tell the world it is ok to seek help for depression. Kellie's life was not easy and she let everyone in to inspire others to rise above.
Like I stated if you never encountered depression or bad experiences in your life that is wonderful, but to make fun and laugh is horrible. Many thought I had everything (material wise) but on the inside I was falling apart, I had a alcoholic father who not only physical abused me but my mother as well. I sought my therapy in drugs and alcohol at the age of 10 until I was 25. Really funny huh?
Depression and alcohol runs in the family and not one thing makes that funny or nuts.

there are a few hundred THOUSAND people taking meds for depression that dont act like sluts on TV

people that deal with it day in & day out without making a production of it, without pissing & crying for "everyones support"

does she think that because she was on a TV show she suddenly means more than the rest of the people with the same problem?

she needs to SHUT UP and deal wither her PERSONAL problems just like everyone else, and stop trying to get everyone to jump on the sympathy train for her

I said what I did because I was wanting to put a human touch to depression. I am no longer nuts!

that is debatable, you seem to want to project your past history onto everyone else and simply buy into the claim she must be brave and wonderful because she CLAIMS to be having a problem

KP needs to deal with her problems (and from her actions there seem to be more than one), and stop riding the sympathy train

depression doesnt need a "human touch", it is a very real chemical imbalance in the brain that not only hurts the person involved but all those around them

none of which explains or excuses KP acting like a slut
