Isles' Hunter lost to broken ankle

Forward Trent Hunter, who was one of the prime candidates to replace Bill Guerin as captain of the Islanders, suffered a season-ending broken left ankle in the Islanders' victory yesterday.

So far, I'm impressed. Bridgeport is getting "the system" nicely which is making it a much easier transition to come up and play some minutes in the NHL at a productive level. Plus, Hillens play since the trade is making me feel alot better about losing Campoli. And what's with Gervais? He's actually playing like a solid defensemen. Run the youth till golf season, that should open up everyons eyes, give idea's about next years status, and hopefully still keep us in last for a chance at Tavares.

Trent Hunter is a great guy to have on this team. I am of course sad that he is hurt, but if he had to be hurt I am glad it is something from which players fully recover. All the best to a helluva good player.

Oh my. This injury puts our Stanley Cup hopes to an end this year. And is he really a hunter ? I consider him to be more of a gatherer.

My calculations show that they are still last in the NHL, however.

Im not the biggest Hunter fan but he always comes to play. Get well...
