Huge come from behind win for the Hawks tonight. The first period was not very good, but after the huge stop by Khabby on the 4 on 4 they turned it around. I was happy to see the 3rd and 4th line contribute. Now if they can keep this streak going and win on Sunday night that would be great. Currently they are sitting in 4th place in the standings, 35 points after playing 27 games.

I would say that Big Buff, Khabby, and Walker would be my 3 stars. I love it that the defenseman are stepping up cause they are aware of Wiz coming back, and Johnson soon after that. Keep it going and racking up the points.

Chris, how did Khabibulin play, did he look shaky? Were the Hawks physical at all? Who played exeptionally well, other than Byfuguien? Were the Av's running Kane? I didn't see the game on T.V. and your reporting is pretty bland, eh?

The game was on Comcast Sportsnet Plus, which usually means it is on the CLTV channel. It doesn't show up on the guide either, so you wouldn't even be able to find it that way. You can be pretty sure that if there is a basketball game on Comcast Sportsnet, the Hawks have been bumped to the other channel.

This is what good teams do. They win games that they don't always play their best. This is a sign to me that the Hawks are becoming a better team.

Great road win in a tough rink against a hot team. This was the kind of road game the Hawks needed; a come from behind, gritty win. Nice to see Buff throwing his weight around. If he gets hot, look out! Was it me, or did Sharp look like he might've had a little too much cough syrup before the game? Lethargic performance last night... But anyway, a great win. Go Hawks!

Nice job Hawks. Isn't it funny how those 2 pt. wins run that point total up so much quicker than those SO losses? The Hawks are starting to look like a premier team in the NHL, and i for one am glad to see it. Granted, living where i do, i don't get much chance to watch them unless they're on the Versus game of the week, or playing the Predators, but i can enjoy it by reading about them on-line, and winning definitely makes the reading more enjoyable.

Tim: Your right the 3rd and 4th lines were key in the win. How about that pass by Toews to spring Buff on his breakaway goal? Loved his second goal because he was parked in front of the net and Havlat found him.Ladd seemed to be flying most of the night. How about Q benching Seebs in the second period? I thought Khabby played well and made key saves at the end. It'll be interesting to see who gets benched when Wiz gets back Sunday. The PP could be better but other than Pat Foley calling the Aves Denver all night I got nothin to complain about..l-o-l..

Good road game. Hawks controlled the play for much of the game. Khabby looked a bit rusty, but played well enough to win, with two or three big saves at the right time.

Keith was excellent--+3 on the night and PoG imho.

BTW, where would your vote have gone on the TV poll question on best D-pair the Hawks have had?
How many here saw Stapleton/White, back in the days?

The Trib is going broke for good reason. Out of touch with what's going on today.

I would've went with Wilson and Murray just on longevity of them playing together and the fact that they came up through the Hawk system and put up some numbers. It was a tough call to vote on any of them because they were all good D pairings. I remember Stapleton/White but White came over from the Kings at the time and did play 7yrs, never really played a full season. Gary Suter didn't play enough (5rs)with Hawks..Keith/Seebrook simply haven't done enough in the NHL imo but it's a fun thing for the fans to get involved in during the games...I think Chelios/Suter were leading the vote but I don't know how it ended...

The Trib needs to step up their coverage of the Hawks. I am tired of seeing baseball trade rumors taking up column inches.

No Wiz until Tuesday at Edmonton Doctor's orders...Hmm, I wonder if that's really the case, gives Tallon more time to juggle roster?

Rod we have the same deal up here but when a team gets hot TSN starts to pick up their games. We don't get Versus network. We are getting Tuesday's game but not Sunday's. It is fantastic to see the Hawks on a roll and playing like the talented team they are. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!

I did and they get my vote. Say them play in the first Canada-Soviet Union series in 1972 and they relly shone in that one. They are part of the Hawks tradition and it's great to see we can still remember the way they played.

Three great picks for sure. Let's not forget about Dave Bolland also....He delivered the pass to Ladd for the game tying goal & drew the penalty that basically set up Buff's game winner being that Hawks had control in the Av's zone & scored 3 seconds after that penalty elapsed. Nevermind his consistent play againest our opponent's top line center every game. He'll never be the mega flashy star but what a great role player he's turning out to be.

The PP was bad. The second Buff goal was only because Keith and Havlat got the ice with Campbell on PP and started throwing the puck at the net. Campbell is now reverting to the old ways of exclusively passing and looking, refusing to shoot, resulting in two straight PPs without a single shot on goal. Sharp and Kane had a mediocre game. What's the use of Barker on PP when he doesn't use his supposedly big slapshot from the point? I say trade him when Wiz and Johnson come back.

Doug Wilson and whoever was his pairing (Behn Wilson/Murray) would get my vote.

Thin the Herd: I saw Whitey Stapleton and Bill White play. Also saw Stapleton when he played in the WHA. Used to go to games at the old International Amphitheater at 42nd and Halsted! That WHA was a cool league for a while there. Got to catch a few games in Winnipeg and in St. Paul. As for last night's game: I only saw the 3rd period and certainly liked the comeback. Khabby looked to be in pretty good form considering his situation. I give him a C grade for the period. Keep the feet moving boys!
