John Michael Liles? Dude you got to be out of your mine. If you have any question in reagards to what the islanders will do on draft day. Remeber this! how many d-man sell out crowds, only one, Bobby Orr! Hedmam or foward Duchene are not going to do that! No Matter if Taverse Scores a 100 GOALS in a season, people will always look to fine a way to complain about his ablity! A no brainer! Taverse #1

Please just draft Tavares. Then get creative with the 26th, 31st, and 37th overall picks. Enough already! Why do the Islanders always have to use the draft to get attention? It's been like this since the Mad Mike era. Draft Tavares, get creative with the other picks, or just use them, and get attention by staying healthy and making the playoffs next year. Us fans deserve this!!!

Winning games sells out crowds and defense wins games. The one post-lockout playoff appearance we had was also the year our GA was the lowest post-lockout. Our GA this year was one of the four worst in the NHL and our organizational strength is at forward while our organizational weakness is defense and goal. The idea that our great need is a scorer is a crock. This draft we pick Hedman, trade up for another stud D like Despres, draft best available F and D with our #31 and #37 picks, Lee with the Boston pick, Lehner with our 3rd round, and best available D with the Pitt pick. In FA, sign a backup G, Ohlund, Oduya, and Samuelsson. Then next year, draft a stud F like Hall, Kabanov, Pulkkinen, or Ohman to play on the other side of Bailey from Okposo. You are welcome, Garth!

Liles? Logan I am absolutley shocked you would create such a ridiculous trade scenario. Very unusual coming from you. That would be a joke trade and we would OFFICIALLY be the laughing stock oh the NHL. Wait a minute, we already are. Hopefully Snow has more brains then that. Why do you insist on using the Redline report as a reference? It is a joke and you seem to be the only one taking it seriously? Why? Also, why is it that we can't just pick the consensus #1 pick JT. Why don't you reference ISS the REAL scouting service Logan? Taveras is #1 stop with the nonsense, any other option is dissappointment and frustration for most Isles fans. After that they can move to KC. I'll help them pack their bags and kick'em in the ass on the way out! See ya!!!

ridiculous scenario. Save it for your imagination rather than the papers. Canada has been mute on the fact that Tavares visited teh Isles last week. Im sure they'l be all over this one though. If the Isles can get Duchene and Hedman id be all for it, but please, that is pipe dreams. Draft Tavares and try to work some magic with the 26th overall pick. Thats what this draft should be all about

Bill, if you are in fact an Islanders fan your are absolutely clueluess and wasting your time posting comments. How can you honestly say that the Isles organizational weakness is defense? We have one of the top 3 offensive d-men in the league. A great shut down d in witt and sutton, meyer, martinek, hillen, gervais plus we just drafted hamonic, ness, niemi...WHO IS GOING TO SCORE GOALS???? OUR LEADING SCORER LAST YEAR WAS A DMAN!!!

if they can somehow get Hedman & Duchene while keeping Streit, Okposo, Bailey, Ness, and Joensuu then they absolutely have to do it. IMO they should even make 2010s 1st round pick available to pull that off. However if they can't (and they likely can't) they should just do the smart thing & draft Tavares or Hedman with the #1 pick. I'd rather have Tavares, but won't complain if they go with Hedman.

hahhaha Yea Its ridiculous and shameful if its anyoen but TAVARES. DOnt be clueless wang and snow, this is the guy that is going to add some life to the franchise. The only question is how much. You obviously have to build strong pieces and the isladners have begun to do that with okposo, bailey, Jonessu, and hopefully last years and this years picks are good because we sure have had a lot of them. This team is going in the right direction and now we need a face to the franchise, a centerpiece. Tavares is that person! Lets go Islanders-lets draft Tavares or cry!

I agree with Bill in that winning is what sells tickets. We need a bunch of top-level players, not just one to become one of the better teams. If Snow can somehow maneuver to get picks 2 and 3, and then draft Hedman and Duchene (like Logan fantasizes), then I will set up a Garth Snow Temple to worship him, because that would be an outright miracle. If that doesn't happen, then I hope he drafts Hedman, tries to move up from 26 and drafts a few more good forwards this year and next year (we'll probably have a lottery pick next year, too).

Take Tavares. Hedman and Duchene not equal value. Duchene stinks. He's going to be a crappy 3rd line center in the NHL. Skates but can't score. A young Andy Hilbert. Stay away.

Is Bill Torrey available to conduct this draft? Seems that he was the only GM that knew what he was doing. Redline is only pushing to keep the Isles from Tavares. It would be easier for the Leafs to trade with Tampa which is why they are downgrading him so the Islanders can draft Hedman instead. What is Relines track record anyway? Tavares will score in the NHL. He would be the face the franchise, and along with Bailey and Okposo be a great marketing tool. Look at the Blackhawks!!

I truly believe the Isles will draft Tavares...no brainer. They got Bailey for a reason last year, that reason was to be a great setup guy for Okposo& Tavares...Baileys gonna be a assists machine. Snow did the right thing by passing on Filatov, the got Josh and collect more picks. Thats smart. Baileys the right guy to go between OK & J.T....anybody agree?

also, why would the Isles commit to Streit for 4 more years to draft Hedman? Im sure you guys wouldnt think the Isles were gonna rebuild on just last years draft..it does take several years, look at Ottawa in the early 90's and the mid/late 90's Tampa Bay teams. It does work out for us. I believe.

How about this scenario: trade down to second and extract Lecavlier, give the bolts like a 2nd or third rounder. Trade down again to third and get Wolski or Statsny from Colorado. Then trade the third pick to Toronto or Coyotes. Maybe Schenn and next years first?? Then draft his brother from Bradon or PaajarviSvensson. So we walk away with Lecavlier, Wolski, Schenn(last years d-man), and PaajarviSvensson or Schenn. You get three excellent young players and one superstar. You fill your conerstone D-man with Schenn, get establishes superstar, and grab Schenns brother the star foward in the draft.. Schenn, Lecavlier, Schenn, Wolski.
