I expect nothing to happen, typical stand pat Sabres. Either Darcy's not doing his job or upper management is not allowing him to.

Or the greedy players' union is pushing Campbell to not accept the more than fair offer (one he would normally take if it were his choice alone), in order to set a higher bar for other players' contracts. I think this is the more likely scenario.

Kiss this guy g'bye...according to the News..he and his agent are NOT going to counter offer the Sabres...Its a one way street and he just showed what his intentions are. Soupy wants to leave on his own terms like Drury and Briere did..and leave at the end of the season ...so there is no
disruption in his life ...Screw that.. I'm hoping Darcy gets good value for him...Pull the trigger...

Well ... if Campbell refuses to make a counter-offer or accept and offer coming from the organization then he has made the trade decision easy for Regier. No Contract .... start looking for real estate Campbell cuz your sure as s*it not needing any here.

The NJ Devils team salary level is at approx.$47.5million, which according to a story yesterday, is just above the average salary level for all teams in the NHL, but well below the maximum salary cap. They will have "0" unrestricted free agents at the end of this season and they are in FIRST PLACE IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE.
Doesn't that tell you something? It tells me that our GM sucks and that he has no idea what he's doing. It also tells me that it doesn't matter how much money you spend that counts, it's how you spend it. Again, proof positive that Darcy Regier sucks as a GM.

Get rid of him. He isnt worth more than 4 million a year. He just benefits from playing on a free wheeling offensive system. Put him on Columbus and he sucks. He should be taking a big time home team discount. His head is bloated. For every turnover he makes, his demands should lower by 250,000. Package him with Kotalik and get Marian Hossa so Ottawa doesnt get him!

Love to get Hossa...but he's too expensive for this organ-eye-zation. Some team will think that Campbell is worth 6 or 7 million a year...and they will be stuck with that contract. For every hit that is shown of Campbell making...there are dozens that he didn't do that resulted in giveaways, goals or making other players look bad.
He's full of himself...but as much as we have a player that isn't worth it.. we still have Quinn and that bean counter running the ship...Its not all Darcy. Remember...Darcy was the one that got Drury here.. Briere for Brad May?...its Quinn and that other goof that let them go.

Like it or not - we have to trade him NOW. We can't afforded to keep him and get nothing in return after the season ends. We lost two guys last year for nothing - we can't let it happen again!!!!!.

Well I agree at times it does seem like the Sabres are cheap & they don't always make the right decision. But when you do have to lose 3-5 guys just to keep 1 or 2 that doesn't make much sense. I wish we still had Drury & Briere but the fact of the matter is they had dollar signs in their eyes...which someone told me was them preparing for their kids' future.

Well let me tell you, my parents made far less than the millions these players make, we are middle class America & there was always food on our table, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads & more importantly the love & support of my parents. So don't give me that crap...bottom line is these players have no commitment, why should we? Ba-bye Brian...have a nice life & career!

GOOD, get rid of him. He'd terrible defensively and aside from 2 hits, what does he do? He is no where near the defencemen Dion Phaneuf is and should not expect a Phaneuf type contract.

wow its amazing how people react. When drury and briere leave everyone is yelling and pissing and moaning, we better not lose campbell if it happens i hate this team. Everyone knos that if we were in 1st place again like last year you will all be saying sign him sign him. To you that say he is not worth 5-6 mil is crazy. He is in the top 5-10 defensemen in the league hands down. so pay him like one and stop trying to take home town discounts on every player. you think miller will take less to play he wont and nor should he. He has just watched us lose about 5 players that still should be here if darcy would talk contracts earlier.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Leo

Why are you still fighting, Leo? Everyone else went home a long time ago, but you're still here pounding your fists on the table. Although you don't want to admit it, accepting defeat may be your most practical option at this point. Sometimes it's just easier to move on than to keep up the fight. When you're forced to restructure, at least you have a chance to redefine. YouÕl get the opportunity to start with a clean slate, so use it to your advantage.
