Can you please change your name to the Long Island Loser's or to the Kansas City Tornado's or something like that.

This is the closest the Islanders have come to winning a game in awhile. Isn't it time to honor the 80's team and Al Arbour for the 100th time.

The Isles are still here? Move already. You stink and your owner is an idiot who leaves Milbury and a backup goalie in charge.

While the slash on Ovechkin was a travesty, it does not come close to the goal by a kicked puck a while back. There are meanings for each tho.

1. kicked goal - if they can get away with it, Toronto and/or the refs will find a way to make a horrendous call.

2. Even a tap on the wrist (just saying in general, not specifically Witt's penalty) to Ovechkin, Malkin, Crosby...any of NHL's PRECIOUS BABIES will get called. If that was Richard Park with the puck it would not be a call at all. How does anyone think PIT got the the Cup Finals last year? Purely not on skill alone.

That's why the NHL is what it is.

Again, the system works, but you can't win if you don't have a true goal scorer or two on the team. Guerin misses the net 4 of every 5 shots. Bailey doesn't shoot at all, even when standing in a prime scoring position. Move Witt and Guerin and get draft picks.

This team will be fine in 2 years. That means playoff contenders...

Ok spineless fans, go back to pissing and moaning.

Pit got to the finals by beating a Ottawa team with no goalie and beating an injury plagued Philly team. Plus Marian Hossa was playing for a contract so he made sure that team got to the finals. No excuses, Isles tried their best but could not get the job done.

They wont be high picks for Guerin and Witt. If Keith Tkachuk only got a third rounder and Robert Lang for a second rounder what are you gonna get for them. Third maybe fourth round picks. Besides if they are traded the Isles will not meet the NHL's mandatory minimum salary cap.

This organization is so far down they will probably go on a mini winning streak the last week of the season and blow the chance of getting the number one pick.

Hey Good Game, the Islanders have not been a significant force in the NHL for over 20 years and counting. 1993 was fun, but that was a looooooong time ago. Keep pretending that you're more of a fan than anyone else, but you're clueless. 2 more years and they'll be good, are you kidding me? Fans like you with their heads in the sand have been saying that since 1988. At what point do you hold the organization accountable for putting out a good product? No more free passes for this inept franchise. You and all the other Isles fans that keep pretending they've been anything other than an embarrassment for 20 years are fools.

There are always ways to get around the salary cap restrictions but I totally agree that they certainly wont get any 1st round picks for anyone but Streit. Snow will probably do the same thing as last year, take 10 plus guys and pray. I can easily see them losing the lottery even if they end up with the least pts...Wang used up all his luck avoiding prison.

Exactly...the team will be fine in a couple of years. It will take some pain, though. Tavares should ease the suffering next year.

Guerin at the trade deadline will get a decent prospect and maybe a 3rd rounder. I think they should hang onto Witt. He's the only good defenseman that they have.

If they don't take Hedman in the draft this year, they need to make a push at signing Komisarek. He'll be a good addition plus it'll be easier for him to come to LI since he's from West Islip. Going after Higgins wouldn't be a bad idea either, for the same reason.

Yeah ya know, it's obvious...I don't wanna sour on the fact that they couldn't get more than one puck past Theodore tonight. The bad call(s) aren't certainly not the full reason why the Isles got the OTL. But something like thiscan ruin the integrity of the game. And it has been SO evident the last few years, more than ever. It was never like this. Was Turgeon a precious baby when Hunter gave him that cheap shot in '93? Or Vaske when he got boarded and practically ended his career? I don't remember much hullaballoo about that stuff in the 90s.

Yeah I said hullaballoo.

Just gets to me and I'm not alone. Just seemed too easy last year for PIT. Easy to call it a fluke too. Caps earned the division tho last season.

The whole negativity of the issue has dwarfed this franchise for too long. At least Milbury said something. Either with press conferences or banging a stick on the boards.

Agree- that was terrible call. Anyway- the system worked yesterday. Washington rarely was able to get speed into the Isles zone all game.
This core of youngster might not have a Sidney or Oveckin in there-but there is talent-they seemed to be coming together as a group-and they work hard. Clear the vets-lets truly get the youth movement going...

I was at the game-great crowd.
So true about Guerin-he missed the net every shot he took.

In two years this team will be contenders????? In two years, you'll have to buy the NHL network to watch the games b/c the team will be in KC.

Slash the stick, you get a penalty. Stop crying. How is it a travesty ?

The kicked goal you're refering to was Strudwicks goal in Edm. Player made a kicking motion after the puck deflected off his skate. Struds didn't even touch the puck when he kicked. That call I can see disputing, but not the slash.

You speak as if it's a guarantee that the Isles will get the #1 or #2 pick. Does the crystal ball show when DiPietro will play again too ?
