If you look at the stats, it's about as funny as Nystrom getting his number retired from the Islanders. Nystrom's career stats are 235 G 279 A in 900 games. Graves had 280 G 227 A in 772 games. Also Graves only played 2 seasons in Edmonton where he had a total of 16 G and 30 A over those 2 seasons. Now, how many for Graves? As usual, you are mixing apples and oranges with team and individual honors. The amount of banners has nothing to do with earning the honor of having your number retired. There were alot of other players that were on the Isles from 1980-1983. Should they have their numbers retired? I was comparing stats of two individuals on their bodies of work with their respective teams.

I think your Afro has gotten in the way of viewing what winning the cup and taking it down the Canyon of Heroes is all about. Face it, your Isles will always be 2nd class (at best) to the Rangers. Most Isles fans are disguised as Ranger fans when they play at the Mausoleum. You and the fifteen other real fans will always eat our dust.
