You know what makes the Chicago to Detroit drive seem REALLY long? Doing it right after watching your team get the crap beat out of them! Only one order of business today. Send those Detroit jersey wearing invaders home losers. No whining about blown 3-0 leads, starting goalies getting hurt, disallowed goals. No worrying about Nashville/St. Louis tommorow. Tonight!!! LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!

and its hockey "sweaters"

woohooo, LETS GO HAWKS! I remember the first time I went to see the hawks play in 1996, i was 12 years old. They sang the national anthem and it was so loud and overwhelming that it made me cry. lol. I got the chance to see Denis Savard play and all I remember was this little guy spinning round and round, making the bigger guys fall while he scores at the net. It was amazing.. I hope he passes that finesse to his younger players. I love hockey, its prolly my #1 sport I love to watchg.

Detroit has sucked since I first saw them on TV in 1961 when the Hawks won the Cup. I hate anyone who wears that red Santa Claus uniform.

11 years old. Stanley Cup finals. Game 7. 2nd period. Hawks are up 2-0. Tony "O" give up a goal from damn near center ice and Henri Richard undresses Maggie (God rest his soul) for the eventual game winner. Oh yes, there was crying in hockey that night (at least in my house) my friends, and the next couple of days after that as well. I still carry the emotional scar from that one. No one needs to tell me I need help. I already know!

I will be at the game tonight, I just hope that the UC is filled with Hawks fans. I am so sick of seeing all of the loser detroit fans at the games vs. detroit. Last few games this year against them you could hear the place rockin with DETROIT SUCKS, over and over. Lets go Hawks, 3 games to go, and we need some help to make the playoffs.

I remember that well...I was playing in a little league game of course the game was on radio we kept getting updates from some of the parents that brought transisters. I know I was upset to even being on the ball field. I wanted to stay home to listen to the game...

I was in college in Champaign at the time and I too still feel the pain. That series the Hawks were up 2 games to none and three to two but couldn't close the deal. As a Chicago sports fan that game, the Cubs game 6 of the NLCS in 2003 and the 2005 NCAA finals leave the biggest emotional scars.

And how many cups have your bunch of cigar store indians won since '61? Just askin'. Dollar Bill going for the big dirt nap was probably the best thing to happen to your franchise but your bunch is still two seasons away from being serious contenders. It is nice to have another pretender in the division. That being a doormat thing had to be getting old.

A portion of Wikepedia's summary of game 7 (5/18/1971) in discussion: "..when Jacques Lemaire's shot from near center ice MIRACULOUSLY went by Tony Esposito unnoticed. Not "surprisingly". Not "unexpectedly". Not "unbelievably". But "miraculously".
I will never visit/use that frog lovin' website again!

Old, but we were able to experience the Hawks's glory years of the 60's and early 70's; the Bobby Hull era.
