Here is a short list of players I would like to see in a Sabres Jersey as "returners" and "new comers":
Marian Hossa Stu Barnes (Again) Mike Peca (I know, bad blood, but we need leader/scorers) Wade Redden (to kill the Ottawa blue line and help ours) Teppo Numminen (He is too good to let go) Johan Hedberg (Miller's Back-Up) |

Management is to blame, first and last. Stop trying to shift he blame on the players. Yes, they should share in the pitiful failure this season, but it was the management that set the wheels in motion. They ripped the heart and soul out of the team. Leadership - start with the front office and set an example. It was obvious to the team and everyone else that management didn't believe they were good enough or worth enough to win. How do you expect the players to believe it? Get rid of all the great players that contributed to the incrediable ride the Sabres were on and expect them to just keep going! I hope Miller leaves and goes to a team that knows the value of "team". Teppo, yeah he settles things down, if not, he starts having heart palpatations.

Add Tim Kennedy to the list.
What better way to get the area excited then to sign a local player who has talent. If there is any doubt how much talent the guy has just watch highlights of his play at Michigan State, heck his end to end rush last year vs. Michigan is still and ESPN Highlight of the Week fan favorite. He stole the show at last year's trainig camp before the Sabres' braintrust allowed him to return to Michigan State (no room in Rochester to develop any players since we shared the Americans - another stupid money saving idea that will cost us in player developement). Since this is a smart move I wonder if it will ever happen. |
