Hawks will not win first round, but will learn a lot, the future depends on Scot Bowman and how much input he has on the prospects, and who they sign or trade this summer.

Sadly, by the time hawks are ready, leafs will be and they will always beat hawks in finals.

Great for the Blackhawks. Great for the Wild. Great for the Blue Jackets.

How can you say that the Leafs are going to be there, and the Hawks won't go anywhere this year. The Hawks are on a roll, 99 points 3 games to go, I can't wait till tomorrow nights game. I want to see them win that one too and get over 100 points. It has been along time since they achieved that one.

I don't think they're going to win tomorrow. The Blue Jackets will be too amped; get a point in this game and they'll make the playoffs for the first time in team history. That's something that no team can prepare for.

Hawks are kids...no veteran leaders, need tough grinders, more goal scoring in clutch situations. Leafs are rebulding fast and will be at same level as hawks in three years, and leaf momentum always prevails as they are viewed as the naitional team of canada and play like it is the gold medla game night in and out when they are in playoffs...hawks are good, but not great.

C'mon now -- get serious!! The Leafs are the Chicago Cubs of the NHL. I lived in Toronto in the 1980s and admit the Leafs are my second favorite NHL team, but they have done nothing for 40 years and won't see the Cup finals for 40 more. At least the Hawks got in back in 92. And they did so with style -- entering the finals they had the record for most consecutive playoff wins. Of course Penguins took that record away by sweeping them in 4, but still a pretty impressive run (by both teams).
Hawks may not make the finals this year, but this team isn't fading away anytime soon. Count on a regular Blackhawk presence in playoffs for years to come -- and at least 2 series wins THIS YEAR!!
Chicago is hockey crazy again and the best is yet to come. Ain't it grand?!!

"Hawks are kids...no veteran leaders, need tough grinders"
Yeah we need 25 Wendell Clarks, right? Flying down the ice like a madman, crashing into the corners, and laying there on his butt while the play goes down the ice without him. Real Harold Ballard dinosaur hockey.
Hawks are the youngest team in the league and about to hit 100 points or better -- oh yeah, and at least two series wins. Leafs will be watching it all up in "cottage country".

Hey there Kirk BlackHawk,

Are you kidding me about the Leafs? Last Stanley Cup was in 1967-way back in the 6 team league. They are like the Cubs-why bother developing a competitve team when you'll sell all your tickets in any event.

Fleury,Savard,Henri Richard,Martin St.Louis, Pavel Datysuk and so on were small guys that did or are doing well in the NHL.
As for the Leafs rebirth I saw their last cup winning gane in 1967. Forty two years ago. You are more likely to see a live Elvis concert than a Leafs cup win in the next 5 or 6 years.
As far as them being Canada's team speak for yourself because they sure as heck aren't mine.I would rather see Calgary, montreal,Edmonton or Vancouver win the cup then the Leafs. I would raher see the Russian national team win the cup the the Leafs.( Well maybe not the Russians.)

The Leafs are the most over-exposed team in hockey, maybe in all of sports. They're consistently mediocre, playing well only when the games don't mean anything.

Yes, they might be where the Hawks are in three years, but the Hawks will have moved well beyond where they are now.

The Leaf's Canada's team?

More accurately, the Leafs are the Canadian media's team. That's not at all the same thing.

Anyone notice that the Tennessee team has players named Vern and Jed? I think Jethro's in their minor league system.

That was a pretty gritty game. Even Kane was throwing the body around, Grant it he almost hurt himself by doing it.
It was actually good to see the Hawks get down by one on the road and be able to fight through it and come out with a win. You can tell they playing with more confidence.
Did anyone hear Eddie "O" talk about big Buff's ice time? The coaches must see something in him to give him a lot of ice time. I am a supporter of Buff and we will be fine.

I am so happy that the Hawks have figured out that to win in their division you have to play 60 minutes, but on the lighter side, the old Indian Outlaw song would be cool to play after some goals at the UC.I heard that on the radio yesterday and about wrecked the truck when it was playing.

It's great to see the hawks on a win streak. They need to win tonight because it will be their last points (I HOPE NOT) last two games v.s. DETROIT. Will see how much they are ready for the playoffs.

Very nice to see them come back after giving up another goal while short handed. Also nice to see another team make some mistakes under pressure as the Preds did on the Kane goal. Nice backhander by PK - you don't see too many slick backhanders these days...unless its the Wings or so it seems.

Nice win by Vancouver as well. I really hope they win the NW division and take the 3rd seed in the conference.

Looking forward to the game at the UC tonight. Should be another nail-biter like we witnessed on Sunday. GO HAWKS!!

Ummm, isn't that what EVERY team prepares for when it's playoff time? I don't think the Hawks are just going to roll over and let the Jackets win because the Jackets will be "amped". That's what this time of year is all about. All the teams that are in it are amped. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, the Hawks need this one to lock up 4th place and home ice for the first round. Looks like both teams have something to play for.

Boy how I would love to exclaim: "I told you so"! But, it wasn't an exclusive insight.

I know we hate to do it with this bunch of kids, but, just as an internal query (do not respond out loud, just think about it) name the worst Hawk's player on the ice. YOU CAN'T, CAN YOU?

Big Buff has been taking most of the heat lately, Campbell before him, Barker before him, even Kaner. Look at them now (OK, Barker gave one away, but, that's what you have GTs for). Buff is creating some havoc out there and actually triggering offensive pressure (I don't know if it's good or bad that he's the only one I see, going into the offensive ice and swiveling his head around looking for the trailer). Barker, Walker and Frazer are becoming fearsome hitters. Bolland, Ladd (great passing), Brouwer, Eager and Burish are doing plenty of grinding and damn productive doing it. We still have Versteeg, that keeps doing the little things, poking his head up, now and again, to show his natural sniping instincts in traffic.

We all know the rest of them (Hey, where was Sharpie?)and WE'RE the team that has the different hero every game.

Bunch of kids that don't know any better. Somebody forgot to tell them (or did a poor job of formulating the message) that they're lucky to make it to the playoffs, let alone coming in hot, knocking their way through the first two rounds and on to the chalice. No, they'll be knocked out in the first round. Poor misguided kids, just haven't been told of their limitations and will probably just luck their way through the rest of the season and the post-season.

;-) Heh, heh, heh. JUST KEEP THAT MESSAGE TO YOUR SELF! Me? I'm just grinning from ear to ear and watching some kids with little veteran experience to show them how to lose in the first round, slap the snot out of, supposedly good/elite teams on their way to producing a big ****-eating grin on my face (and fists through the soffit)!!

"They're OUR kids, damnit!"
