1 Well, it's a call that could have gone either way. Halak could've been called just as easily for interfering with Upshall. |

1 it could've been called as incidental contact...Upshall ran out of room when he skated for the puck, and really wasn't able to get outta the way. |

1 I don't know, I sometimes think the Refs are too quick to go up with the arm. I don't think a player, on any team, should be penalized for trying to pursue the puck...here's what Upshall said: “I thought it was definitely a borderline call, especially in overtime. It’s tough to kill a 4-on-3, which is basically like a 5-on-3,” said Upshall.“I wasn’t going in there to try to take out the goalie. I was going hard to the net, and I know I hit the back of his legs. That’s a situation where I’d try to do the same thing next time, try to make something happen. But sometimes those calls happen. I thought we had chances to win it in regulation. It was a game with a lot of up-and-down action.” So, basically, Upshall means that the refs shouldn't be so quick to go up with the arm when a goaltender is nicked or not hit hard. The goalie has so much protection, anyways. I'm not complaining about the Flyers losing, cause I didn't feel they deserved 2 points, for going 0-8 on the PP in regulation...I'm just saying that the way Upshall was called, it could have gone either way, depending on the player, who the officials are that night, and how the game has played out. |
