I only saw the 3rd period of yesterday's game but what I saw was rather pathetic. Why do we always roll over for NJ? Danny Briere better step up now that he's healthy and start earning his salary. Maybe I'm harsh but I'm also getting frustrated with the inconsistent play. Hopefully the good team will show up against Boston tomorrow.

I found the fact that Giroux was on loan to the Phantoms to be very troubling.

He has been the 3rd or 4th best forward in the last 6 games and he is not available for the NJ game? That tells me that they are up against the cap so hard that they needed to do something like this.

At this point...I would not be surprised with the news that Knuble and/or Hartnell are traded.

I like both but there is only one thing I hate more than the inconsistent play - it is the STUPID penalties that Hartnell takes.

When is the deadline? I know its this week but not sure what day. I think we'll lose Knuble because he's an UFA end of season. I agree that the dumb penalties need to go. SH needs to be more disciplined.

I am Knuble's number one fan. I have a question "what does UFA mean." Now if I had to trade anyone I would trade Parent.

UFA - unrestricted free agent. He can sign a deal with anyone next year and the flyers get nothing for him.

I think that it may be Hartnell that gets sent packing - his money is on the books way too long.

I think I speak for BOAB as well when I say that I adore Knuble's play. He is very disciplined and great on the power play but they need to move money to make a trade.

I will have to strongly disagree with you on Parent. I think that he has been playing like the second best defensemen on the team the last 10 games. Coburn and Jones are skating around and just late to the puck. Carle is not that good at all and Alberts should be traded for new tires on the zamboni.

Parent will be one the "greatest" Flyers if given the chance I think. His level of play, at his age, with the limited experience is VERY impressive. I see the future potential of him and Giroux about the same.

Unrestricted Free Agent. I enjoy watching him play too and I'd hate to see him leave. Plus, I really enjoy yelling his name when he scores; "Kanoooooooooble!" Still, I think they will move him to get salary cap space and get some young prospects. Chances are he'll sign elsewhere at the end of the season because the Flyers can't pay him more money with the cap issues they have. Might as well get something for him now.

I like Ryan Parent too. He's young but I think he'll mature into a solid top 4 defensemen.

I also feel like I might be a traitor but I think we'd be well served to trade Lupal. I know he was the hero of game 7 against Wash. last year, but I just don't think he's all that good. Too many passes go off his stick and I rarely see him win a battle for puck along the boards.

I don't think you will see the Flyers do much at the deadline. I think they will try to win with what they have and hope that teams ahead of them get over active and mess up their chemistry. The only two players I would attempt to move would be Upshall and Alberts.

I agree with Drew I think the Flyers will try to win with what that have. I think it would be kinda pointless to trade anyone now. The reasoning for that is becuase the flyers would probably not be as good with a new guy from a different team.

You're welcome. MK had a great game last night. I love beating Boston. Now if we could only beat those NJ guys we'll be set.

Sorry, but all those years we couldn't beat NJ, they didn't have much offense. Now they have an offense and Brodeur. Beating NJ might not be in the cards this year.

I'm disappointed with the trade they made. I think Homer made a trade just because he could. They already re-assigned the nobody they got for hime to the Phantoms. We didn't need a goon. We needed another offensive-minded defensemen or a grinder. Oh well, maybe I'll be proven wrong but I think this will go into the "bad trade" book.

And yes, I loved yelling Knoooooooooooble watching the Boston game.:-)

I disagree. This move was not about trying to get an equal caliber player for Upshall or to fill a need per se. This move was about keeping Giroux in the starting lineup for the rest of the year. When Timonen went down with the flu they ran into cap problems and had to send Giroux back down to the Phantoms. With Upshall gone, the Flyers has some breathing room and will not have to worry about sending Giroux back and forth.

Point taken. I just liked Upshaw. That's why I could never be a GM. I'd hate to ever trade a player I liked; even if he wasn't performing.

Agghhh I couldn't agree with you more! Plus I work w/ a bunch of people from NJ and of course we all know how gracious the Devils fans are.:(

I watched the game w/ my 79 year old Mom and she said, "These guys are playing like p*ssies. What happened to the Broad Street Bullies?" lol

Now let's be honest. Philadelphia fans aren't exactly gracious to anyone else either.

I've seen fights in stands all over the country. Philadelphia is no place to where opposing team jerseys.
