How the Leafs can make the playoffs

Full story: The Toronto Star

It doesn't happen very often in the NHL that a team comes from wa-a-a-ay back to make a legitimate run at a playoff spot.

Have you ever heard the expression, watched water doesn't boil. If the press would get of their case, just report how they did, not what they could / should or failed to do. I blame the press for putting too much pressure on the Leafs over the years. I am sure the Team is trying to lose, I am sure Brian Burke does trades just to screw the team over. To the press, just report what you see, nobody wants to hear your opinion. If that mattered, I am sure Burke would be calling asking for it.......

Your assessment is bang on.. The media and their constant picking and proding is actually why the leafs have not won the cup for so many years.. e.g. a new highly touted draft pick shows up in toronto and is bombarded by the media.. a young kid has a hard time playing his game when even picking his nose is reported across the country..every aspect of his game is disected about thirty times a day on various shows in the area.. The pressure must be immense... its hard to play when your being watched so,so closely.. e.g.#2 a player who has been brought in via the trade or free agency... has to deal with exactly what the draft prospect does......plays horrible, then gets traded......plays great for his new team.. why ??? the media in toronto is like a hungry lion and wont stop its hunt until satisfied.....trouble is the media is never satisfied....

Daily Horoscope for June 17

Virgo

You'll really enjoy the company of people who make you think today, especially if they can keep you entertained and amused at the same time. You aren't in the market for anyone who's too set in their ways or who thinks like a robot. You want lively, intellectual conversation and the chance to give your brain some exercise, and a vapid conversation about last night's TV isn't going to do it for you.
