Another frustrating game to watch. Bottom line is, there is no urgency with this team, at the present time, to dig deep and find a way to get the job done. Part time effort, along with numerous excuses, just doesn't cut it. PLAY HARD! SKATE HARD! PASS! SHOOT! CHECK!

What the **** Wild????? How badly did you want to go to the playoffs? Some of these games you look like you couldn't care less! Put a little more heart into your games.(And thank you to Brent Burns for saving your butts in those two recent games!)

I don't agree with the assesment that it was lack of effort on this night, especially in a 2nd period where they took more than 20 shots. The Wild just ran into an exceptional goaltender.
I do believe Lemaire did something stupid. Instead of building off of what was an execpional 2nd period and encourage the team to continue. He sends the message that something's wrong, changes goaltenders for no reason. How do you expect the players to respond positivly to that. Lemaire usually prides himself on his ability to separate the effort from results (why he's been so hard on the team for just squeaking by opponents that are considerably inferior St. Louis and New York Is.) Last night he failed to do that, he failed to realize that just because their 20+ 2nd period shots produced only one goal that there was something wrong. There was nothing wrong more than the fact the Wild unfortunatly ran into a goaltender that is playing extremly well (enough to displace Roloson from the top spot). The way to do that is to continue to pound him with shots and try to beat him in volume, and keep them focused on that. The last thing they needed to do was anything to distract them from that, such as a needless goaltending change. I'm usually pretty aww-shucks about Lemaire's game coaching. I'm willing to along with he knows what he's doing when he shuffles lines and tries to find a spark. This time he proved he can be an idiot behind the bench, bad decision, may not have cost them the win. but it certainly ended the game just 6 minutes into the 3rd, costing Minnesota any chance to come back. |
