I really love Edmonton, i live ion central east. beautiful river valley and lots of green. the trails are awesome and a huge mall on the west end. The oilers have really good fans, especially on the train ride home from an Edmonton win!

Prongers leaving was not mysterious remember, he was cheating on his wife with pretty much anyone that walked not to mention he got one of them pregnant. Now he is a hero for winning the cup, whatever, that makes me sick to my stomach. Pronger is a low down dirty cheater that does not deserve credit or praise for anything. Cheating is one of the nastiest things you can do to another person, it makes me sick to listen to the hockey analysts and announcers talk about how great he is, he cheated on his wife over and over again, he is a dirty piece of shit and should be shot for his actions off the ice, not to mention that he almost killed 2 guys on the ice in the playoffs this year as well. Pronger your a dirt bag and one of the most discusting people ive ever watched on TV.

Every year the Oil do an excellent job of DEVELOPING players which eventually leave because of climate or money.
In spite of the constant erosion of talent, Edmonton is usually a contender.
This says alot about Mac and Lowe, overall, one of the best Coach/GM tandems in all of hockey. Edmonton fans are (usually) classy and provide awesome support as well.

Your acqussations about Pronger are not able to be backed up. Where was it ever officially stated that Pronger had indeed gotten a girl pregnant? I never seen it anywhere, there is no factual proof. One has to remember in these kind of situations that Pronger is a famous hockey player adn rumors do start easily. We can not accuse Pronger of getting some other female pregnant if there is no proof to back it up. As far as I am concerned that is nothing but a rumor, and if anyone has the nerve to repeat that rumor than it really makes you no better than Pronger. The NHL is supposed to be about the hockey, who cares what Pronger does off the ice, not me. Pronger left on personal reasons and as far as I'm concerned the only thing which was ever stated was Prongers wife wanted to leave, so I do not despise Pronger for trying to make his family happy. To me that's what any caring husband should do. Get your facts straight before you go posting them. I do agree with you that Pronger's play in the playoffs was not respectable, and I do think as a player it was a dirty hit twice over again. Therefor I would like to see the NHL do something about it adn bring forth a system of punishment which is the same across the board not one that favors star players. And honestly i think the biggest concern us as oilers fans should have is Kevin Lowe's ability to bring in those star players which we are lacking. One has to remember that both Pronger and Smyth, were traded by Lowe. Lowe could of had the balls to tell Pronger he was staying in Edmonton or not playing hockey at all. So Lowe should take some of the blame also for Pronger leaving.

Pronger would not have played in Edmonton, he made that very clear (REGARDLESS). Everyone knows what happened in Edmonton with his off ice antics.

i am a huge oiler fan and i was very disappointed and somewhat miffed when Pronger left. But I do know for a fact that Mrs. Pronger tried to fit in (not sure how much) but was rebuffed repeatley by certain Oiler wifes ( not all) when trying to find her 'niche' in the Oiler Family. She tried, I know this for a fact, so why would she want to stay here when she wasn't always welcome by a certain few.
Still an Oiler fan not a Pronger fan but I will not spread rumours only what truth I know

there is not doubt that Kevin made a mistake of trading Ryan. He was the heart and soul of the edmonton's team. I know he is not a 6m man. However, he was a truth Oilers and Kevin should not have traded him for a difference of 100K. Anyways, what was down was done. Pronger's saga should be the thing in the past. We should not have talked about him anymore. If Kevin can lure couple scorers, i beleive the team is back in the playoff hunt.

I for one dont think the Oilers are going to be as bad as everyone says, they still have alot of good young players, and a hlf decent goalie. Hemsky, Horcoff, Pisani, Stoll, Souray, Penner just to name a few. I guess we will see whats up pretty soon though.

Dev Starr, The last 10-15 games of last year would only be an indication of this year if the Oil immediately have at least 5 players go down with injuries. No team could have dealt with the amount of lost man games that the Oil had last year. The return of Moreau and Stoll as well as the few sigings will also help. Although I am concerned about our chances for a playoff spot, there is no way we are in for another 70 point season. My prediction 8-9 spot in the West, approx. 90-94 points.
