How about moving Cheechoo? He makes four million a year and can't score 20 goals. How can you go from being the league's leading goal scorer to what he is now. I don't understand that. And Thornton will never win a Stanley Cup in his life because he doesn't know how to compete and work hard. Nabokov is just not what he was in previous years. Move the "big boys" and start over with Boyle as captain.

Get the Sharks brass to contact Edmonton. We'll take Thornton, Nabakov and Cheechoo for four players currently on the Oilers' roster and a first-round draft pick.

"It's probably just as well that our beloved Los Tiburones lost in the first round"

I have on clue. I was watching the San Jose Sharks. No idea who you were watching. Might watch them next time instead of your "los tiburones" thing.

To say that the Sharks couldn't have gotten passed Detriot in a 7 game series is a little harsh. Yes the Sharks dropped to the first two games at home, Yes they never really set the tone in any of the games, and yes they blew it big time in the first round against the the number 8 seed Ducks. Even leading up to the play offs the Sharks didn't have and steam rolling at all. In fact they looked like they were ready for a vacation even.
Although all of those things happened, and none of the "star" players (they all played like stars during the regular season as far as the regular personel goes in my opinion) stepped up and took over to lead the team. However I don't think it was due to a lake of effort by any means. The difference really came down to figuring out the Ducks goalie.
My point is: Had they come back to beat Anahiem to take the series in game 7, the Sharks would have been plenty confident facing Detriot in the second round. Their speed, size, and ability would have really kicked into gear. I believe they have a great team that posted up record numbers for the regular season, and to do that with a first year head coach? Not to mention all of the first year players that all had to find their respective roles...? I would hope that Doug Wilson considers all aspects of the season before shipping some of the guys off to make room for draft picks. Especially Boyle, Patty, Nabby, Blake, Big and Little Joe.. Honestly there are a lot of guys that I could name here that really make up a good part of this team that are real good peices.
I also wanna point out Ryan Clowes effort through out the season. Clowe has great passion for the game and he sees the game very well.
Yours truely,

Not easy to break up a group that performed so well in the season. I was critical of Marleau not lighting it up in the playoffs, then he scores the winners in the only two games they won. The problem was not solving the Swiss goalie who was not your typical rookie, having been in championships in his own league before coming to the Ducks. Every game I was just yelling "pepper him" and the Sharks put a load of rubber on him that failed to hit the back of the net. The play in front on both ends has to solve this after putting together such a record breaking team. I agreed with the poster back in the playoffs (seems like a lifetime ago) that the only way to snatch back the series was to send some Ducks away on stretchers, accept the majors and possible suspensions that go along with it and just show that the Sharks have teeth. I can usually live without the goon stuff, but when the officials allow a Duck to smack our guy in the face more than once with a stick when he was prone on the ice, it is time for the players to "police themselves". When Toronto looked at films of all the garbage Anaheim got away with uncalled, they must have marveled that the Sharks failed to retaliate in a proportionate way. You remember a couple of playoff meltdowns ago, when a dirtbag for a lesser seeded Edmonton team, Rafi Torres, knocks Milan Michalek senseless and and skates away with no penalty or retaliation. That turned the series on its head. A better "skilled" Sharks team looked too scared to take a series from a team that should have been gone in five games. This game is very rough, and somtimes I have to check myself hating the player on the other team because I and most of us may have felt differently if the hit went the other way. As our coach famously stated; "sometimes you are the windshield and sometimes you are the bug"! I just see a need for next season to bring back tough players, people like Marchment and McSorley to knock people's junk in the ice, especially around our own net. There, now I feel better having not felt like posting since Game 6 at Anaheim!

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Pisces

You have a one track mind today, dear Pisces, and it's running along very ambitious lines, absolutely determined to achieve something you've been attempting for ages. Can you be so committed that you're prepared to let everything else go by the wayside for the time being? That's great, but don't become obsessive about it.
