Full story: TwinCities.com

Asked Sunday about his sudden dearth of ice time, Mark Parrish had a hard time expressing himself, stopping several sentences just as they were starting.

I certainly rank him above several others, like Simon, FedorUCK, and sometimes Belanger. Parrish is gritty, works hard, is a team player and has had a good attitude. Lemaire though, is the boss and I have confidence in him. There must be things going on that the general public isn't aware of.

Its funny how the Wild goal production has gone down since Parrish has been playing less. He use to clog the middle and get a lot of rebounds for goals! Scratching him for better players? How absurd! What better players? Shepard? Simon? Who? No one is screening the goaltender these days. There are more shots from the blue line, no one is crashing the net. In crucial games, you start your backup goaltender! The Wild coach obviously wants out of Minnesota! He is making decisions to seft destruct the season!

And yet Hill and Skula are still on this roster night in night out ... Lemaire is one piece of work! If players were allowed to call out their coaches/owners as much as they call the players out...Lemaire/DR might not have a job - what a joke! I saw Simon out on the PP against Calgary...what a slap in the face to Parrish - Simon and Boogard are both on the ice and Parrish is not. I don't think you can find any more evidence to prove that Lemaire has a HUGE non-US bias when selecting his line-ups!

Lemaire loves to play head games with his players. He alwasy thinks he knows to show who is in charge. Parrish works his tail off. Its too bad he had to be treated like this but thats the Lemaire way.

For the three of you who posted above my post I can tell none of you have played hockey or really understand the NHL game of today. Parrish is worthless, overpaid and not big enough to play in NHL with his limited abilities. Have any of your ever seen Mark carry the puck from blue to blue line? How about a break out out of the defensive zone? NO! Because he's slow, has limited stick handling ability and the guys in front like Simon, Fedorek, & Boogie can do more in front of the net if they get more playing time. I have been spouting off all year that Parrish is overpaid and not really that good of player. Attitude, grit, and hard working only goes so far. At some point it comes down to overall ability and unfortunately Parrish lacks 4 out of 6 categories. Sorry... but.. Good move Lemaire you are finally noticing what I have noticed since the start of this year with Parrish. Dump him in the off season!

Small players can make it in the NHL but you better have hands like Butch if you expect to stick around. Parrish isn't even close! Dump him for Hossa in the offseason. Dougie are you listening?

2.68MM back on the payroll we're almost there. You can sure tell when one of Parrish's family members does a post! Also if you have noticed we're a few Million below the salary cap. Now who's the Dumbschmidt?

Mark Parrish is an overrated, can't-score-a-goal bum. He sits in front of the net and doesn't git-ir-dun!
Jacq and Riseborough are a couple of money grubbing leaders who won't spend the money to advance this team past the 1st round of the playoffs and tease season ticket holders, year after year. There should be an overhaul in the front office, or this club will start looking like the T-wolves!!

Kabby,

Bet you probably think Skoula should be captain too!!! They are missing the person in front of the net. I don't think they will make the playoffs due to the lack of quality play from the team in general. Proof of that is Saturday's game against Calgary. Pouliout and Johnnson doing the goal scoring. What's wrong with that picture. Oh yeah, I guess I can't say anything because I have no clue. Only been sitting at every game this season at the wild end

I hate to say it, but coach Lemaire is right about Parrish. He is getting pummelled in front of the net. He has now started dropping back towards the blue line because dudes just push him around and that is not where we need him to play. And to the dude up top named "Lemaire" from Omaha, Skoula sucks, but Lemaire certainly isn't going to put Parrish on defense. I don't care what anyone says, Jacque is one of the best in the game. As long as you accept that, you start to realize the players we have aren't getting it done. Don't blame the coach who brought a bunch of nobodies to the Western Conference Finals for the players lack of effort or skill. I do question why Backs wasn't playing against Calgary though.

Hey Kabby - per your comment about small players can't make it in the NHL need I remind you who was the leading scorer the last couple of season a 19 yr old kid who is maybe 6 feet tall and 185 lbs. What about guys like Zach Parise, Martin St. Louis. I suppose you think all the NHL players should be 6-5 250 oh they are called linebackers, when was the last time you saw Zedeno Chara go coast to coast and score a goal, you have no idea what the game of hockey is about, it's not about huge guys bashing into each other, it's a game of skill, speed, finess, passing, skating, shooting, scoring, you must be one of those people that only cheers at a game when you see a fight, I feel sorry for you, that you can't appriciate the game of hockey the way it is supposed to be played!

I agree it is difficult to sneak parrish in the lineup right now, however, that is just the problem. Parrish shouldn't have to "sneak" into the lineup, he shouldnt even be on the line. He has not played all that well at all starting in early December. Should have made a move at the deadline. The Wild are still a good bit under the cap thanks to Pohlads best friend Neagle. Hopefully the new owner spends up to the limit.. One player who has got it going lately, but needs to keep it up is Demitra. This could statistically be his worst season in a long time.

I obviously disagree. Simon and your other two goons are only there for one reason and that's not because of their skating ability, or for that matter, their hockey talents. Why do you think the other teams they played for, dumped them?? Parrish isn't a super star, but is much more of a hockey player than any of those other guys.

Look everyone can beat up my comments all you want but me & Jack see it the same! He is one of the best coaches in the NHL and I feel he is a no BS guy. I did mention that smaller players have a harder time in the NHL but I included the skill players like Butch (Pierre Marc Bouchard) as an example of a smaller player who can make it in the NHL. And players like Martin St. Louis, and Zack are great examples of smaller players who can make it in the rough and tumble nhl. BUT come on, Parrish can't play at their level! Hence my case and point! And thanks to Al-aka choholic and Joe in Woodville & Molly, you obviously have a good hockey minds. Ken in mpls, I am also at every wild game and I know our leaders are guys like Brian Rolston, Nick Schultz & Demitra. I say the same thing you say "Skoula what are you doing!!!???) And it's great to already be a threadhead icon with Kabby Hater out there. My other case and point to you, skill players AGAIN....?? when was the last time you saw Parrish carry the puck out of our zone from Blue line to Blue line? How about a coast to coast? EXACTLY he can't HE DOESN'T HAVE THE SKILL!!! I much prefer skilled players over goons any day but I have one word for you Anaheim? Simon, Boogy, Fedorik can all handle the front of the net against that team and any other big team out there. Parrish just gets eaten up! Sorry but that's the fact! Ok enough pontificating... go Wild, a win tonight pretty much ends the Spoilers year! Go get two pts!!!!!

Your point would probably be better made if you could spell the coach's name correctly.

For someone that apparently claims he's the only one that knows anything about hockey, you sure seem ignorant of the basics. Of course you also appear that way on most any topic on these boards.

Parrish plays a bigger role than just his points indicate. He's out there screening goaltenders, pissing off defenders and causing chaos in front of the net. All three of those are good things that generate goals.

Yeah they aren't the pretty high-flying breakaway super-star highlight-reel goals, but they count the same....and in today's NHL they happen FAR more often.

Until you can find someone better to create chaos in front of the net, or alternately be able to reliably put up lots of high-flying goals....I'll stick to my preference for Parrish.

FYI : And because Kabby thinks anyone that disagrees with him is obviously biased, I should probably point out I am not a Parrish family member, nor affiliated with him in any way. You can take your tinfoil hat off now Kabby

Kabby, I'm not sure I understand why having guys like Simon, Boogaard, and Fedoruk who don't score or set up other guys but also don't get pushed around in front of the net is better than having someone like Parrish who gets pushed around a bit but still manages to score multiples of all those other guys combined while also maintaining a respectable plus 4 on the season. The real question is why Radivojevic is still playing (15 pts and -16)!!!

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Gemini

Beware wishful thinking because it will cloud your thoughts and lead to confusion. However, that's much easier said than done, because today you're showing distinct tendencies towards living in a rosy world of your own and ignoring any hard facts that are under your nose. Take care that you don't allow someone to dupe you simply because you aren't paying attention to what they're saying or doing.
