Blues trade Weight to Anaheim for veteran center

The St. Louis Blues have traded veteran center Doug Weight, minor-league forward Michal Birner and a seventh-round draft pick to Anaheim in exchange for veteran center Andy McDonald. Weight is in the final year of his contract with the Blues, while Anaheim was looking to clear some salary room with the imminent return of defenseman Scott Niedermayer, after the veteran decided to put off his retirement. The Ducks need to clear at least a $1 million off their salary cap for next season and McDonald was scheduled to make $3.3 million in 2008-09. Read more

..........Yeah and the deal was changed and the Nhl office in NYC just okayed it.The Ducks get Wieght and the Blues two hockey sticks that are those pricey ones that all the players use now and a dozen hockey pucks and a 12 round pick in the 2023 NHL draft.The Ducks are going to use Wieght as a boat anchour for the owners boat.Hope this info helps.
