If the Flyers want to acquire both JayBo and Komaserek, they'll need to spend around 10M in combined cap money. Obviously, they'll have to dump some cap, which includes Lupul, Carle, Jones, Biron, Niitymaki, and though it pains me to say it, Briere. Knuble can probably be had at a discount price, so I'm not concerned over him, but here's the combined cap space the Flyers would have if dumping those players' salaries: 21.809 million. That would give them enough money to sign JayBo and Komaserek, yes, and then go after a cheap goalie, while they wait for a goalie prospect to develop. They could even bring in a solid top 6 forward for not too much money.

I don't think JayBo will wind up coming here. I think he really wants to play in Canada. Komaserek I think we have a good chance of coming here. I think Holmgren will probably over pay to get him here, but that is what you have to do at times. You're not going to be able to get rid of Briere because of his NMC. But they should dump Lupul and Jones. Lupul because he is a lazy player who doesn't back check and Jones because he is inconsistent in his own zone and has to many of his shots blocked from the point. Carle we should keep. I think alot of his turnovers were a result of the forwards not getting open or coming back to help out the defense. Alot of times you could see the forwards trying to move up ice before the defense really had clear control of the puck. As far as Nitty and Biron I would keep Biron only at the same price he played he for or less. Nitty I would thank him for his time here and let him go if only because of his continuing hip problem. IF we could get another Goalie as in Harding or Clemmenson or even Emery, then I think that puts pressure on Biron. I think you go into the season then with a goalie competition to see who gets to be the starter. They also need a third line center that can takefaceoffs and win them. This was a glaring problem all season. Face off wins. The Flyers were down in the lower part of the League in face off wins.

Yea, I hear Edmonton is one of the front-runners for JayBo's services, but the Flyers really made a push for him at the trade deadline and were on the verge of acquiring him from Florida. But the Panthers wanted Giroux and that just wasn't gonna happen. We'll see what happens. As for Komaserek, it wouldn't surprise me if Homer overpays for him but as you said, that happens sometimes, and especially because of the cap. I don't want Biron to return at all, and it's not because of anything he did in the postseason, cause I think he was solid...it's just that he wants a long-term deal and the Flyers cant give him that and have him battling Emery for the no.1 position or whomever they acquire. I think they should acquire a cheap goalie (Anderson or Fernandez) to man the pipes for 1-2 seasons, and trade for a goalie prospect (like Harding, Enroth, etc.)I want them to stay away from Clemmenson cause I don't think he's as good as his record and stats entail. I truly believe that his success was more a result of the Devils' defensive game and increased scoring.I agree, though, that they need a faceoff guy...they missed Dowd with that. A guy I'd like to see them get is Radek Bonk. He was close to 60 percent on faceoffs, which is great. He plays for the Preds.
