The most likely scenario is that Sexton keeps his job and they bring in a weak GM that agrees to work with both DeBoer and Sexton. And Jaybo would prefer to play in western Canada but word is that Montreal and Philly have also shown interest.

Steve Gorten: stick around these boards. You will continually learn something. Honestly.
Once J-Bouw walks July 1, so do I. The Oilers are enough of a headache.

Pardon my ignornace, but what exactly are teams "vying" for? Bouwmeester is a UFA and he's out of here no matter who gets friggin "negotiation rights". He can go anywhere he wants as long as teams can afford him. These silly articles and idiotic rumors still imply that we have some sort of leverage with Boumeester. Newsflash, we lost all leverage back in March when our no talent a)s(s clown of a GM screwed up yet another blue chip player we could have gotten something in return for. Meanwhile he left this franchise in shambles and Sexton has no leverage at all. He's like a lame duck interim GM on a losing franchise with a cheap owner and a roster full of spoiled players looking for the first hot ticket out of here. Seriously, if you were a coveted player in the NHL today would any of you want to play for Florida right now? Hell no! I'd take a pay cut just to avoid this pathetic excuse for a franchise. At this point I think every team in the NHL has players or personnel who have experienced the NHL purgatory down here and have warned their colleagues to stay away. The only reason we signed bench-warmer Reinprecht is because Sexton the genius dangled a 3 year contract in his face and more money than he would ever see anywhere else in this league. Cha ching for Reinprecht. He avoided the KHL and got a retirement contract to boot while the rest of our roster continues to deflate like a rotting animal corpse lyng in the hot desert sun. Only now the buzzards are circling and Bouwmeester is the only juicy morsel left of this NHL farm team.

Seriously, I find it more than a little strange that we don't have a permanent GM at this critical time. I have 2 questions: 1. Does this mean Sexton is the de facto permanent GM? 2. Will the Panthers get any benefit for Bouw before July 1st? And, I disagree with you on Reinprecht, I actually think he was a pretty good pick up.

what a joyous time for panther fans. the team is about to be sold to people "just looking to buy a team." these clowns will care even less about this franchise then the current ownership. all they will care about is making $$$, which will mean keeping payroll as low as possible, which is what we've seen for years now. sorry panther fans, but i still dont see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Exclusive rights to sit down and workout a deal with him and his agent without having other teams selling their city and offering more money. Trading for rights has been done before. Flyers traded for the rights to Nashville’s Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timmonen and signed both before they became free agents. It is easier to sign players when you own the rights, that is why teams trade soon to be UFAs.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY - Painters misspelled the word "school," and now the sign has become the talk of the town, especially for students who attend class nearby, WSVN-Ch. 7 reports.
Students who attend Goulds Elementary School in southwest Miami Dade had no problem spelling "school;" however, whoever painted the word on the pavement spelled it "scohol."
A spokesman from the Department of Transportation said, "Yes, this is a state road, but Miami-Dade County Public Works painted it there with temporary paint."
A Miami-Dade Public Works spokesman said the misspelled word will be corrected by Friday.

The Panthers weren't able to get that much for Bo before the Trade deadline but you think they'll get that now, LOL. For 4 days of a headstart in "talking" to Bo, when the chances of even getting a face to face with him are about zero. This is another FUBAR by the Panthers owners and Mgmt., Bo has been clearly signalling for 2 yrs that he wouldn't resign here. They missed several chances to trade him and completely mishandled the negotiations. Now the "exclusive negotiating rights" have been mishandled till they're worthless to. Let me be the first to post here-
Tony Tavares, the CEO of SPAC...the group currently looking to buy the Panthers was brought in as President and CEO of the Montreal Expos for the sole purpose of "greasing the skids" on ending the franchise and moving them to Washington where they became the "Nationals". He just finished trying a similar move with the Phoenix Coyotes, where they chose full bankruptcy over sale to Tavares. The NHL and Bettman sued Tavares to avoid the deal and keep the terms "secret". So of all the sports teams and other investments available in every financial market around the globe...the ONE deal Tavares wants to make is for the Panthers. There is 20 yrs left on the lease at BAC locking the Panthers into staying. The only ways to break that are A) to buy out the remaing portion of the lease. B) make the team so unwanted that a "sale" to another city for a big profit would be preferred to keeping such an embarrassing team. Gee, I wonder which way Cohen, Yormark, and Tavares are trying to go!!!
