Rangers' Jagr will follow the money

Full story: Newsday

Hearing Jaromir Jagr talk Tuesday, hearing him say the Rangers will be his first choice and that change is not something he embraces, reminded me of a story from the dark Rangers days.

Why woudn't he? Look at Chelios, took less money to stay with the Blackhawks, only to get traded.

Loyalty doesn't pay in sports.

It's never enough money for these guys!! He'll play for Russia if they give him enough money.

But when you love to gamble like he does, you can never have enough. Don't discount NY's proximity to Atlantic City - one of his favorite haunts.

ya know what??? i'd really rather read an article by any one of you guys posting (sorry, except probably wolf) over this guy. am i the only one that this "writer" aggravates this much? maybe it's just me, but his "logic" is just so half-arsed. he can drag out his old "dark day" stories all he wants, he's guessing like everyone else.

Read the News and Post today. Jagr's father is opening up a new arena in 2 years and has asked his son to play there when it opens.

That means he has 2 seasons left in the NHL, and I believe he will play here and not in Russia those 2 years, and I believe it will be for the Rangers, hopefully a two year deal around 5.5M a year.

WOW! This guy should win a Pulitzer Prize for such a groundbreaking story! A professional athlete that is also a free agent may go to whichever team offers the most money! I've never heard of such a concept before. If it holds true, he's a genius and Newsdump should be proud! Great job!

I hate that we lost Jags! The Oilers made the best offer, but he still went to Russia. He said he didnt want to play for any other NHL team except for the Rangers and this prooves it. Sather will regret this!!!

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Aquarius

In complete contrast to yesterday, you have your head screwed on firmly today. Yet you won't be boringly sensible or drearily practical, so there's no danger of you having turned into a dry old stick overnight. It's a good day for keeping track of important details and processes, such as confirming a forthcoming appointment or filling in a form and then making a copy of it before sending it off.
