Penguins' Crosby wowing fans and foes coast to coast

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

In Vancouver, a young woman greeted him at GM Place holding a sign: "I'd give a kidney to make out with Sidney." In Calgary, he signed autographs at the airport at 2 a.m. In Edmonton, he was forced to stay in ...

Said Allen "at any given moment he (Crosby) can elevate his game to something that no one else has".... Let's hope someone with a CAT on their sweater can elevate...just a little bit, and not just watch him dazzle.

The Panthers aren't going anywhere Tuesday night except one loss lower.

Let's hope the Panthers can elevate their game to something everyone has.... the will to play 60 minutes of hockey.

I'm pretty confident the Cats will send a message to "Sid the Kid" and the rest of the league tonight. Have you ever seen a Penguin do well in a hot climate? All kidding aside, we pretty much shut Crosby down last game until a couple minutes left in the game. If we show the same intensity for the entire game we should be ok.

Go Panthers!

Sid the Kid and his mates are going to pound this pathetic ECHL-calibre team into the cellar of the Eastern Conference, where they belong.

On a positive note, we can now buy $10 kosher dogs in front of Section 112!!!!

If the Panthers come out strong and shut down Sid the Kid, they have a chance.

Go Panthers!

I believe they have injuries in goal, and I read that they will be starting their 3rd string goalie. That should help our cause. We need points however we can get them.

Carolina just claimed Samsonov off waivers for what's left of his contract. Where was Martin the Martian during all of this? Eating a kosher dog?

I realize Samsonov has been a major disappointment, but he's on the final year of his contract and might have benefited from playing here. I would have been really interested to see him play alongside Jokinen with his speed and playmaking abilities. Looks like we're still stuck in AHL land.

Not to cast any gloom, but would that 3rd string goalie be the one that shut the Panthers out on Saturday?

You guys will write anything to try to drum up support for a sport that is on life support. When you eliminated the tossing of rats on the ice you committed financial suicide in this hockey community. Panthers Hockey R.I.P.

Your willingness to chime in here shows that you, too, are showing a little support.

Thanks for caring.

Understand your point...but at the same time, do the Panthers need another player that does not care nor have the drive and passion that is being demanded on these msg boards?

Samsonov has been basically sleep walking through his career since Boston, so would his presence help? Although, then again...nothing gained if notihng tried...

You didn't read inside the lines. Any player in a contract year is a different beast than right after they sign a fat contract. Sammy knows he needs to showcase some stuff the rest of this year. That is the best time to pick up a player.

Besides, who on this Panthers team would you replace Sammy with????? You gonna tell me Horton is playing better right now?

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Samsonov producing at less than half the level he did in Boston would almost be enough to take the place of any so-called offensive forward we have except maybe Jokinen. I'm not saying he would have been the answer to our offensive woes, but in a contract year anything would have been possible and we would have risked very little except what's left of his contract. If he didn't cut it we could have just tossed him at the end of the season. When I see what Atlanta did with Recchi I know there's hope for players many believe are washed up. I just wish he didn't end up with one of our divisional foes. With our luck, Samsonov will be the one who scores the goal against us that causes us to miss playoffs by 1 point. You think I'm kidding, but this is the kind of karma this team has had for years.

Good luck tonight gentlemen, gonna have to play for 60 minutes or more tonight. Look forward to seeing a game in person since the last one I saw in Nov. Whichever goalie is starting should be sharp and well rested. And rememeber who your playing again, try to stay out of the box, because you know those boys from N.C. are gonna be faling all over the place!

And to the Ranger's fans that like to come on here and rip our team for different reasons. I was watching that game last night at the MSG and there were quite a few Montreal fans there. I thought you guys didn't allow other teams and their fans to take over your beloved buildings. Focus on your own teams for a change, because what was a large lead in the conference standings is now dwindling to nothing, and you guys have played the most games of anyone in the league!
