The Good, Bad and Ugly - No more small forwards, enough already

Full story: OurHometown.ca

A good loss. Tough to blame anybody or anything other than the power play. Kind of a weird Montreal Canadiens - Boston Bruins game.

so true.

and that's much why I am looking at the team to shit can Price....They can trick some team into giving up a lot for him right now, size, speed and goal scoring punch up front in particular,

I guess in the end it all comes down to WHETHER YOU BELIEVE that Carey Price can win this team a Stanley Cup with solid consistent play game in and game out, and especially should they reach any playoff series...or...WHETHER YOU BELIEVE that Carey price will play half good and half great and we end up exiting any playoff series, if they even got to one, and right now it looks like they aren't even close.

As well, and all of the sudden, Andre Markov isn't near being ready...again...all of the sudden.

The Problem you guys were all yelling at me all of last year just about that we cannot score goals is suddenly a major issue I cannot ignore any longer and you were all right, because not only can we not score goals anymore, more importantly, we cannot score goals anymore with anything that even comes close to regularity.

Yes I think if we could trick someone into taking Price in exchange for a dependable goaltender and a good scoring ,bigger type forward,we would be one step closer to turning this thing around. Our little guys are getting pushed off the puck and dont seem to want to go to the hard places to make a play anymore. Cammalarie is beat, from doing it for so long.. a small body like his can only get pushed around for so long...too small to play in this league. Now this is nothing new. this has been a topic in montreal for the last five years. Nothing ever gets done about it though

I agree you could get something for him for sure....but who?? And then what would they do for a Goalie....
Look at the trades the management has made in the past year...We have gotten the raw end of the deal each time....
This management isnt capable of making a trade. Let alone making one that will benefit us.

what did we get for Halak who is suppose to be better than PRICE. Nobody that can help the team right away or maybe in the future.

I tell you fellas it comes down to the management of this team..They are the most dysfunctional group in the league. I am not sure what to do except for the obvious....
We know it and they dont seem to care!!!
Martin looks like hes on Viagra every night....stiff behind the bench with just a complete Ahhh look to him.

Pretty sure I saw him talking to himself the other night.

you guys are right and I acknowledge what you are saying Labatts, I am sorry that I have no patience left and in retrospect it would be great to keep Price and even greater if they got him a really really accomplished goal tending coach, but sadly they won't even admit, and I do not think anyone other than me even thinks, that he can be WAY WAY BETTER. I am trying to say that I have enough confidence in Budjai that I think he can do a good enough job that I say all the team has to do, is put Price's name out there and see what offers they get, privately from the other GM's maybe even put out a feeler like we want a guy Like Nash, and/Or a Claude Giroux type guy, someone who is tough and scores with regularity, game in and game out.

If they keep him {and I am not stupid, they will}
Get him some help for crying out loud. The way the team played again against Boston there was No excuse to lose that game and I blame all of the forwards as much as I do Price for the lone goal I say he should have had and should have played a lot differently on... for not being able to {The Forwards}accomplish anything even close to finishing....for 25 games now, in which they managed to score 5 goals on only three occasions.

The freak of it is those three games were against Winnipeg, ok, but also, Philadelphia and Colorado...HUH...?...Philly and Colorado?....my lord how did this bunch even do that?... and further more, if they did do that, three times against some pretty good teams, isn't the state this team is in RIGHT NOW sending the MANAGEMENT clear messages that there is a major coaching problem here right across the board?

I just cannot get behind a single fucking thing this team is doing anymore...I am at a loss to understand any of the things this team is doing but mostly, what they are NOT doing.

Each Loss is making that playoff spot more and more of a really delusional fantasy.

I just read that the team is averaging 2.52 goals a game and Price is only letting in 2.10 a game . They really need to score more , this stat is scary ad it means that price and the d-men have very little room for error .

You know I agree with what everyone is saying here.
My biggest concern is the lack of scoring...It really doesnt matter if the goalie is great or not...we just cant score...
I am starting to think that free-agency is the way to go.
The only problem with that is this management has no F&cking clue how to get one......Perfect example of this is TROLL 1(GOMEZ) and TROLL 2(GIONTA)....
I would look to see the scoring stats per game per season and see when and just why it tallied off....and on who's watch........
And then BOOT F*uck Guathier..OLD STYLE..Right in the old nut sack.....
Tonight is a victory we need....

and in retrospect after RyanW's new comment their up above me I am flabbergasted and think I might have even jumped the gun in my disdain for Price, because 2.10 is really awesome. Especially now at this time of the year when things are wild anyways, and all the parity is playing itself out. Teams are going all out and then the next night have nothing left after a long plane ride...anyone can win or get hot offensively on any particular night.

If the team can start scoring with regularity they would never need to get rid of a goalie at Price's calibre, maybe through Markov's name out there ina few weeks and see what that or someone's else's name does...because there is ONE REALLY GOOD thing here working in the Habs favor...

They aren't the ONLY team with problems or positions they may want to shore up now "while we're young"...

There is in fact some opportunity out there and the Habs have the resources to at least pout out some feelers and see what is interesting in the way of counter offers and what is not...without using Price as the bait at all even...which I think most of us would prefer as much as the team getting him a really good mentor.

In the end I think it's clear that they either need to score NOW or start thinking about signing some players who can...and blowing this thing up again.

The Islanders are largely under the salary cap . I know there's talks of them wanting to move Blake Comeau . This is what i'm thinking , Send Gomez to the islanders along with maybe a 3rd round pick . In return , Montreal gets Blake Comeau , Someone tough ( i know the islanders have a few ) and maybe a prospect . Comeau is cheap , young , and potentially put up 20 goals . Then , talk to Nashville about sending Andre to play with his brother Sergei .See if they'd part with a draft pick and maybe even another tough guy like Tootoo . Now all of a sudden Montreal is under the cap by about 13 million dollars ( if my math is correct ). Re sign Subban , re sign Price to long term deals and start shoppig around for another top 6 forward .

or

Kostitsyn, spacek, Eller and a second round draft pick for Nash straight up .

It freaked me out that Plecanic was not chosen
he seemed to be having a great game and was the best player on the ice all night.

I was even more amazed at what Camallerri and Pacioretty did on their chances.

Pacioretty took a complete cowards way out and Camalerri went in way way too slowly.

Gionta knew exactly what to do, and how to do it, and of course he scored.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
