Detroit's Chris Chelios dismisses 'anti-American' controversy

Full story: Chicago Tribune

Chicago native Chris Chelios , a former Blackhawks player and current member of the Red Wings , became the center of a small hockey drama before the teams met in Game 3 in the Western Conference finals on Friday night thanks to his friend Jeremy Roenick , who -- often quite wittingly -- enjoys thrusting himself in the limelight.

Hawks might as well get used to playing without Havlat and Khabibulin cause you won't be able to afford either one of them next year. with 10 RFA's over the next couple of years coming at a time when league revenues are going down (the salary cap is expected to drop for the 2010/11 season by as much as 20%) money will be incredibly tight. bottom line is Chicago won't be a better team next year.

Spot on!

I've already pointed out that there's a fantasy out there about how great Rocky is and how great John McD is.

The Hawks stunk-up the place for years. They got top draft picks. They were bound to have a "rebound year." But now they're going to have to pony-up the money.

Now Rocky might not be as cheap as his dad; but then he'll have the excuse of the salary cap.

This is a HUGE YEAR for the Hawks. But they have to do it NOW, this YEAR. The years to come are not going to be as kind, and Khabibulin is clearly on his last leg.

That hit on Havlat was the ugliest, "clean" hit I've ever seen. Out cold with them fighting over him...yikes.

Go Go Hawks, let's win TWO~

Great to see Huet back as a goal tender while Khabi is being hurts, perhaps this might be a break for the Hawks to pull through against the Wings after all. Huet has been a good goal tender along with the bulin wall and he has been rested lets hope he freak out and become a HOT goal tender to help the Hawks into a Stanley Cup. Huet did a good job in third perioud with six saves.

With Khabi and Havlet being absense the Hawks still have a very strong team GO GET THEM HAWKS see you in game 4.

How do you Hawks fans feel about Huet? I know he didn't play as well during the regular season as expected and eventually got replaced by Khabibulin. However, Khabibulin has a save % south of .900 in the playoffs.

Is this a good thing for the Hawks or not?

One of the many losers from Vancouver pops up again, with the same tired post.

You could at least put out the effort to re-phrase your drivel. Like too many on your team, you're a floater.

Tell me, how's the golfing in Vancouver in May? I know you have plenty of time to devote to it.

I think we're fine w/Huet in net. Khabby hasn't been all that spectacular since Game 6 of the Calgary series. Good but not great.

By all accounts, Huet has kept himself ready, and he'll do fine.

The headline makes it sound like Huet stopped six three on one's in the third period. He saw six shots and not one was that great of a chance. The Hawks finally stepped up and played some defense cause they knew Mr. Five Hole was in net!!!

Making up a 3-goal deficit is not luck. It's better play.

Let's get this straight... The Hawks put 3 points on the board and one more in overtime to take the game and it just luck. But, the Wings put 3 points on the board and it's better play?

Care to explain that in detail? Or are you just talking crap?
