Players come and go...remember the decision to"let go" of McKee?...heard of him lately? Up until a month and a half ago, Briere was all but washed with Philly...and Drury, yes, he's good...but look at the year Vanek had...who would have guessed he was durable enough to take a pounding in front of the net and play the entire season...Pominville, quietly became one of the top scoring forwards after the All-Star break, outscoring the likes of those media fed phenoms in Pittsburgh, Malkin AND Crosby...
Sure they didn't have all the tools, and it's hard to put it all together in any sport for any length of time...Blame free-agency.

So yes, you can be as mad as you want to be at everyone in the organization, you've earned it as their fans to expect a winner every year, but don't think for a minute that the players wanted to not make the play-offs.

Did anyone really think that this team would be able to pull this off. The only thing we as fans can hope for is that Golisano sells the team to someone who wants get serious about building a Stanley Cup Contender. In one season the clowns at the top managed to get rid of all of their best players and relegate this club to a Farm club for the rest of the NHL.

its time for a change, come on people ruff did not win the cup in all the years he has been coach, other teams would have made him clean out his locker years ago, maybe just maybe we could get some where with fresh ideas, how many more years are we going to give this clown,we have a retired coack that won cups i dont know how many times living in east amherst, let him coach home games, and let his assistant coach away games and practices,he might just go for that clause

The comments are brutal! I guess Buffalo who is known for having the best fans in the country obviously did not include this bunch. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Listen this team went through alot this year and they did great. So we didn't make the playoffs, I can't say that the rest of the division is that much better than us just look at the point spread. You are giving Brier and Drury way too much credit for last years awesome season. They were just a piece of the puzzle and I honestly believe two players that did not want to stay here so good-bye. Stop harping about them and get over it! And as for Campbell, you think having him on the team solely would have given us the game or made us playoff contenders? Highly doubt it. This game is as much luck as it is skill and we lost games with him on and off the team. As for the comments on the Rochester call ups, wow very poor taste. We are lucky we have such a great bunch of guys that worked just as hard if not harder than any NHL player. Still a sabres fan and always will be. Can't wait to see them play next year! Go Sabres!!!

Oh well, another season down the drain. If Larry Quinn and Darcy Regier kept the players they lost last year - Daniel Briere, Chris Drury, Brian Campbell, etc paid the players what they wanted, we would have been in the playoffs and maybe win the Stanley Cup!!!!. Its time to get rid of Larry, Darcy and Lindy. Been there too long.

Oh well, maybe next year.

Uhhh, when Darcy and Larry had a verbal agreement during the season with Drury for much less than he signed with the Rangers for after the season... and then never drew up the paperwork?

When Campbell likewise would have signed before the season for LESS THAN what the Sabres desperately offered him days before the trade deadline?

Briere too? Sabres during the season could have signed for less than Philly paid him, then traded him if they didn't want to pay it.

Yeah "blam free agency" instead of awful idiotic management! Riiiight!

Clearly tow pretty big pieces of the puzzle, huh?

If Drury didn't want to be here, he would not ahve agreed to the verbal deal that Darcy and LArry then say on instead of put in writing (as they even later admitted). SO clearly he wanted to stay.

Briere even more so. He loved this area and would have signed for much less if offered before the season. They only made him a very low offer at the very last minute.
