I'm happy for Backs, he deserves it. But so does Koivu, the Gm's should have found a place for him. No one means more to his team right now than MK.

Backstrom is clearly deserving, but in all fairness Koivu was 'iffy' at best. The Wild don't generate much excitement or attention for offense this season. Koivu's numbers are the best for the team, but pale in comparison across the league. Perhaps a Wild blue-liner deserved some credit however, maybe Burns?

MN doesn't have any allstars. Good team, but no talent at that level. Thats why they won't win a cup anytime soon. They won't commit to winning. Like all mn. sport teams. You don't buy a pro team to make money, there are easier ways. These franchises are nothing more than billionare toys.

Koivu is one of the best two-way players in the game right now. His numbers would be much higher if they gave you points for playing great on the defensive side. Look the ASG format is broken, fans get to vote. And we blew it, 3 Blackhawks, 3 Ducks starting on the west, 2 Penguins, 4 Canadiens starting in the East. And they all weren't deserving of starting let alone make the all star game. And because of that and the rule that a player from each team in the league must be on the roster it really limits who makes it.

Obviously you don't read the posts you respond to! My only suggestion was that a Wild defensemen should've gotten consideration and the question mark following Burns made it, well genius, a question! Koivu is the Wild's best offensive player thus far, but he's not an obvious choice for the all-star game.
