I'm hoping for Havlat and Ben Eager to return. The Bolland signing was a good sign. I've followed the Hawks since the days of Roenick, Savard, Chelios and loved the run they made this year, but cannot put my finger on what the Hawks need to do this offseason. What position do they need to address?
In my view they need a tough winger who has some scoring touch and a big, stay-at-home defenseman. |
In your opinion, what are the options out there that are reasonably possible? |
Eh, Chris Niel's out there but don't know what he has left...Have fun in Montreal Marty. On D? Ohlund? Beauchemin? Haven't really checked the league FA list yet. I wouldn't touch Gaborik. Hossa? How much?
Tony, did Havlat sign with the Habs?
Havlat if you are out their and listening or reading the Chicago Area loves you and also Northern Indiana as well as central Indiana. That is were I am posting from the Indianapolis area. I just moved here in December of this last year and I really have been becoming a huge BlackHawks fan. Especially coming from Tampa, FL. Please stay we really do need your heip for the S.C.

The Hawks might have to let Bulin and Marty check out the market first. Then they might come around for the home town price.Tallon might play some poker with these guys and see who folds first.

havlat stays and bulin leaves. They are just trying to help him get it going in the market. Havlat will end up a hawks but i still want to see a hossa come and play with the kids.

No team can talk to a FA until 11 AM EST today. Now I have been following Havlat and his agent on Twitter. There is really nothing new other than Havlat's agent said a few days ago that the 1 year contract offering was false.
The way I see it is that Tallon is over paying for players. Huet and Campbell were over paid last year, and this year Bolland is over paid. They still have Sopel what are they going to do with him?? And now a month after the playoffs ended for the Hawks Tallon still does not have Havlat signed. It is my opinion that Tallon is not the right GM for this team. I think he should have resigned Marty by this point and should have traded for Heatley. I have this feeling that Marty is going to go to another team and next year is going to be a down year compaired to this year. They have to at least make it to the conference finals. |

Whew....reading this article reminded me of that contract that Tallon gave to Brian Campbell. Yuck is about all that can be said about that deal. Like alot of Jim Hendry's signings, i can't help but wonder what got into Tallon's head to make that sort of offer to that guy. I surely hope that signing doesn't end up being responsible in some way for losing Havlet and Khabilbulen.

NO.!!! Hossa man that guy is the most selfish player on earth.Heatly maybe if they could package Huet and say Barker & Versteig but that is a big hit on the cap, Huet would help there Then they could sign Anderson from Florida (Chicago native) for goal but would stil have to find a D man. The CAP is something Detroit never had to worry about well they build there so call great teams. It was all pizza dought in those cups. |
Remors out of Detroit is that Hossa is close to a deal with the Blackhawks.
TSN is also reporting that Hossa is close to a deal with the Blackhawks. |
Wow, ESPN confirming that Hossa has signed a 12 year deal with the Hawks. More news to come to make this work under the cap. Looks like Marty is history...
Off topic - but several sites are reporting that the Blackhawks have signed Hossa. Congrat Blackhawk fans. Looking forward to a rematch of the Conf. Finals.
Go Wings! |
TSN is also reporting that Chicago also signed Thomas Kopecky. If anyone knows the skinny on this guy post.
Kopecky - drafted by Det in 2000, Rd 2 - 38th overall. not very productive.

Wow I stand corrected from my statement this morning about Tallon. I honestly thought that Hossa was going to the Habs like the NHL network was talking about last night. So Tallon swings in and nabs Hossa, the guy I wanted last year.
Tony how about that.... Well I still would love to see Havlat sign at least a 1 year deal, it would be great to see Havlat back |
