You are a complete and utter idiot! It is more obvious with each of your postings. The Flyers and Panthers are not even close to being in the same class. There are NO parallels that can be drawn between the two clubs. This includes, management, team ownership, team history, payroll, fan base, attendance and most important- TALENT ON THE ICE!!! I can't wait either for the minor league "CATS" play the Flyers twice in January.

It is time McLean became a full time fisherman. He is taking up a roster spot for a good young player.

While it is admirable how hard McLean works, the plain truth is that the team needs players who both work hard AND have more talent. That talent doesn't just have to be scoring talent. Unfortunately there is no single area of the game where McLean stands out. He is also a team worst minus-10. Compounding the problem is that he takes up $1.7 million of cap space and his contract runs through next season. Putting him on waivers won't help as no team would pick him up and the Panthers will still be stuck with his salary and cap hit. Hopefully the guy finds his game as it's likely they are stuck with him.

The Flyers have multiple Stanley Cups, and every year they are committed to win the cup. Can the same be said for your team?? I have been a season ticket holder at the BAC for 6 years and have yet to see a Panther team on the ice that is built for or committed to winning it all. How can you disagree with that? Do shoot the messenger.

Tonite is the most critical game of this playoff year for the Panthers.Carolina looks like the real contender for the 8th position and a loss would put us 4 pts behind them.I dont feel positive with Weiss likely out and Horton back at center with Stillman(did not work 1st 20 games)I would rather see Kreps center this 1st line(better faceoff man) with Horton at wing.Horton loses the puck to much bringing it up ice.Vokoun is going to have to stand on his head tonite to give us a chance at 1 point. We can not alllow Carolina to cycle down low in our zone.No penalties are a must tonite.

NY - In a poll of Worst major sports team owners/execs, we found this interesting tidbit:
"Bill Bidwill (AZ Cardinals) Al Davis (Oak Raiders) Ralph Wilson (Buff Bills) David Sterling (LA Clippers) Matt Millen (formerly Det Lions), and Isiah Thomas (formerly NY Knicks) Think Alan Cohen is a joke)"

Tonight will be a tough game. Carolina is starting to play better and more important Stahl is starting to find his game and even Samsonov looks better (after a very disappointing start). BUT, in the game earlier this week against Montreal they didn't score an even-strength goal and their 3 goals all came on the PP - and they had ample opportunties as Montreal took 5 penalties in the 1st and 6 more in the 2nd. Carolina seemed to be on the PP almost continuously and even gave up a shorthanded goal (and the other one was scored on a penalty shot). Weiss could possibly play tonight, though there is still no word on him. Not having him in the lineup will definitely hurt. I wonder why they don't give Frolik a shot at center as that was his natural position - he certainly can't be any worse than Horton. At the very least Kreps between Horton and Booth and then put Frolik on the wing with Stillman and Zednik.(I certainly hope Jacques is not influencing DeBoer's decisions in this regard!)

When we are around for 40 years, we can compare apples to apples. You havent won since just after Nixon resigned my friend. If as you say you are a sth for 6 yrs, which jersey will you wear in Jan.? Let your flyer allegience go, my friend, the Dave Shultz era is not much of a hockey legacy. Briere wrote: <quoted text>Boy, that's a great come back! When is the last time the Panthers won anything? But I hve to admit that they have some great young forwards in their lineup.

Flyers somehow remain relevant year after year, decade after decade.
Panthers are remembered as "that team from Miami where fans threw rats on the ice a long time ago. And I think Pavel Bure played there once. Are they still in the NHL?"
We can all thank Alan Cohen for keeping the Panthers relevant NOT!!

They stay relevant year after year because they do and SPEND whatever it takes to win. It does not always work, but more times than not, it will. Plus the fan base up there and in other markets don't tolerate mediocrity. The salary cap hurts teams like Flyers, Leafs, Rangers etc. If the Flyers’ ownership owned the Panthers, you would see a totally different product on the ice down here.
