Aww, crap. The Panthers are doing well lately and they need those guys in the lineup. The road trip just got tougher, though DeBoer's decision on who to scratch just got easier (i.e., no one).

I wish the Buffalo game was on TV. My TiVO doesn't see it.

Here we go!!!!!! This really blows!!!!!!!!!! Im not a big fan of Hortons, i think he is talented but lazy and could be great if he wanted to. And also Mcabe i think that hurts more then Horton. But with the addition of Eminger and the boynton situation worked out and some promising young players we shouldnt be to bad.

Ouch...making the playoffs just got tougher. Hopefully the team can close ranks and get some wins like they did earlier in the season when the injuries mounted up. We need Booth to be more consistent and for Stillman, Weiss, Zednik and Frolik to step up and help out with some more goals. How close is Olesz to coming back?

This is where a good cheap and easy pickup of a Satan could have helped.

Needless to say, atleast Boynton is rested, and will now be depended on.

Most teams have to battle injury, and only the good ones survive. A test for the Panthers. We'll see what their depth is all about now.

Horton had just started to play hard and tough when this happened. Two down and the others will really have to step up. Good news is that Horton will be back in time for the playoffs. Think positive.

Horton is out. McCabe is out. Boynton is bench warming while Eminger screws up left and right. Meanwhile, Martin the moron passed over on Satan, Guerin and a host of other player rentals that might have given Florida the depth they need to sustain injuries and still stay in the playoff hunt. This is what playoff caliber teams do. This team is still not playoff caliber. Now DeBoer has to work another miracle to just barely keep this team in the standings. I feel bad for the guy. It won't be easy. Martin is making his job very difficult.

So, you just bought tickets and now Martin's a moron? The team you finally decided to go watch was put together by Martin and he's a moron?

He's a moron for not spending to the cap to pick up a guy that EVERY team passed on? A guy that couldn't get things going with Sidney? A guy that's not been close to the player he can be, for not picking him up (again, like EVERY TEAM IN THE nhL PASSED ON AS WELL), he's a moron? I think we all know who the moron is...

Eminger's new, guess DeBoer's not a mircle worker, but also a moron for speaking to Eminger's character? Give the guy time for crying out loud, and he was improved Saturday, he'll keep improving.

Such a whiner, how easily you forget that the team started playing better when Nate was injured, as was Stillman. This team knows how to pull itself up and play hard.

Geez, you don't know how to not biatch, do you? It's ridiculous! Satan? What? You're upset that this team didn't get Satan? A guy that was assigned to the AHL because noone wanted him?

Sure glad you're not the GM.

Satan? haha!

They're both injured right now, unfortunately.

McLean works hard and should they not have chemistry together on that line with Booth and Zed, I trust DeBoer to find the right combinations.

Satan?
Satan?
I cannot really believe that people here are posting saying the JM should've gone after Satan. The Czech winger is in Wilkes-Barre because no one wanted him.
JM would've been a fool to pick up Satan.
I mean, c'mon, just because some of you hate JM more than you do the Iraqi terrorists, don't go around posting total nonsense like that. It shows an utter lack of any hockey knowledge to say that the Panthers should've picked up Satan. Really.

McLean is NOT the guy to play on that line. He has hands of stone and he's not nearly fast enough. A good grinder on a bottom line, but I'd be much happier to see them bring a kid like Repik back up to play on that line. He leads the Amerks in points and showed some good speed and skill when he was up earlier in the season. He also likes to shoot often, as evidenced by his team leading 155 shots with the Amerks - 30 more than anyone else on the Amerks. The Panthers need someone who can skate and put the puck on net.

The injuries to Horton, who's been skating like a maniac and McCabe who's big shot from the point on the power play will be missed, are a definate challenge. And with the Penguins really improving themselves at the trade deadline, as well as the Cole acquisition giving the Carolina a real boost, this couldn't happen at a worse time. We have to play big games down a pint! Well boys, you've surprised all season, let's see if you have it in the tank for more great play against poor odds.

Nobody wanted him because his huge salary. Knowledgable hockey fans understand that had his salary been lower many teams would have been vying for him at the trade deadline. Nevertheless, my point was to give examples of the types of offensive players available Martin didn't pursue and could have. It didn't have to be Satan even though you decided to pick that one. I'm sure DeBoer wouldn't mind to have Satan now regardless of your rants.

By the way, your personal insults give you zero credibility here. You also misquoted me as usual. I wrote that I would buy tickets if the team makes it to playoffs. So far that doesn't look like a sure thing yet. You may not agree with me, but you don't have to freak out and act like a spoiled child that just dropped his lollipop.

In case you haven't noticed. Carolina just passed us in the standings and the Rags, Pittsburgh and Buffalo are not far behind. Please also note that ALL these teams made significant upgrades before the trade deadline while Martin (as usual) did nothing except dump Welch assuming this club would remain intact despite the fact that injuries tend to increase towards the end of the season.

Let's get something straight. I don't "hate" Martin. I'm sure he is a nice guy, but a crappy GM. I called him a moron for not picking up at least one more offensive minded forwards to provide some depth in the event one or more of our top forwards gets injured (which happened). Player "insurance" is standard operating procedure for teams that repeatedly make the playoffs. But you wouldn't know that because you haven't seen a playoff caliber franchise in action and you don't see what other teams close to Florida have done. Martin made a big mistake and you want to pave it over as me being a "whiner"? Give me a break. When this team misses playoffs AGAIN and you stand there misty eyed wondering how it happened, I'll be here along with many other knowledgable posters to remind you about Martin's poor decision and how it cost the team another playoff berth. DeBoer is a great coach, but he he's not a miracle worker. Martin has not helped him at all other than to keep Bouwmeester around (which will hurt him next season when he's gone for nothing).

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Leo

It's hard to pin down a certain person today because they're being so vague and dithery. Ask them a question and they'll vacillate or be unable to give you a straight answer. You might suspect them of deceitful goings on but it's far more likely that they're simply in a world of their own and can't keep their mind on anything for long. Don't worry, they'll soon be back on planet earth.
