The suspension should have been much longer because of the injury the hit caused. If I'm Betts I would be speaking to a lawyer about bringing a case against this animal. If I'm an NHL official the police should be brought in to examine the tapes and assault charges should be brought up against him. I saw the hit as it happened and Betts could have been killed.

scott k, are you on drugs? that's hockey. it was a late hit, but other than that, it was pretty standard for the sport. the thing is, betts wasn't prepared for it because it was so late. that's why brashear got the penalty, and that's why people are calling it a cheap shot. five games (the first game was for the incident during practice, which is a whole different story) is a bit much if you look at it on paper like that, but the NHL clearly took the effects of the hit into account as well. that's a bit inconsistent of them, but i don't blame them, considering the injury to betts was pretty bad. still, criminal charges? lawyers? police? don't be an idiot.

#1 I've forgotten more about hockey than you know.#2 That was more than a cheap shot, idiot and he didn't get a penalty for the hit only for roughing with Marra after the hit.#3 obviously you condone that sort of violence in the great sport of hockey, you moron. I guarantee that Betts would have a case if he pursued it.#4 That must have been a heartbreaking loss for the Devils last night stupid. Did you get any sleep?

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
