Leave it to the islanders to screw up the draft lottery. This is when they should be losing games......and NOW they start winning. If they do not finish last this season, they are jeapordizing their future. They must draft either Tavares or Hedman to really get this ball rolling.....

McAmmond was a great acquisition for this team. He's a veteran whose play and work ethic are perfect for Gordon's system and his point production shows it. You have to have vets to anchor a youth movement and I really hope they resign him to a 2 year deal this summer.

Here we go, the trade deadline is over and Thumbellina decides he's going to start scoring. If he had done this earlier Snow may have gotten a 5th round pick for him. I hate to admit this but he is playing better. Stronger along the boards and defensively. It only took him how many games?

I think it has to do with all the Bridgeport call ups, he thinks he's playing in the AHL again. Gotta like what you're seeing from the kids though, some healthy competition and having something to prove makes a world of difference. JOENSUU IS A BEAST

This conversation is pretty funny. I can't decide if this is a sign that Tambellini might finally acclimate to the NHL and be useful or just a fluke. I still have some thoughts that he should be moved to make space for a real player but now he's placing a small amount of doubt. I guess we'll see how things play out between now and next October.

I think he's smoke in mirros Rob. Look at this Joensuu kid compared to Tambellini.....Some guys have it, and some just don't. Joensuu lives in front of the net, Tambellini is just visiting. Don't get me wrong I'd love for Tambs to do well, but we've given him ample time to do something. How long can ya wait, ya know?

Ranger fans were smoking a bit too much weed back then. The ventilation up in the blue seats was bad

Let's see the Islanders score when they have to score and win when they have to win- Until then, this little streak is nothing more than a fluke-
No game should ever be more important than an Islander Ranger game...especially at home...gotta win these games- The Devils obviously lie down for the Islanders....don't argue this fact. Phoenix can't beat a Pee Wee team right now- I'm sorry to be the pessimist but anyone who thinks this is the real deal needs a reality check- I'll give them a clean slate again in October to see what kind of progress this organization has made-

If you finish last the Isles have a 49% shot at #1...don't act like finishing last does not have its benefits for the draft lottery...it clearly does..no guarantee but clearly an increased likelihood

Maybe you're not watching the Islanders?

His system is pursuit, pursuit, pursuit. There's no passive forechecking, it's all pressure in the other teams own end. He sends 2 men in forechecking hard, the third forward hangs out up high. The D also need to be willing to pinch and jump into the play. Problem is, most NHL teams don't play this system and the guys didn't have the positioning down. Couple that with guys who are discouraged with playing for a young team, and guys who don't believe in the system and don't give it 100%......well, you end up with a season like this.

What you're seeing now is guys who are buying into it, getting used to where they need to be positionally, and giving great effort. This type of system can't work when you have guys not skating.
